Wigan Warriors win prestigious Team of the Year honour as success recognised

Wigan Warriors are celebrating after being crowned Team of the Year – just days before the BBC Sports Personality of The Year awards.
At a glittering event at The Sporting Club’s Annual Sports Awards Gala Dinner in London last night, Matt Peet’s men were recognised for winning all four trophies this year.

“We had Liam Farrell and Matty Peet up on stage, we interviewed them and showed a highlights reel of them winning all four trophies. Or as I said last night, you’ve now won five trophies!
We’ve actually got
six we won the Locker Cup on June 1st 2024 v Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones.
The club captain that day was Bevan French

good to see. Let's hope we get the one at SPOTY again. There is no one else who I can even think deserves consideration.

Is this the BBC team of the year? I remember the last time they won it but not sure if the year.Memory not as good it's my age 82 thanks.well done to everyone why does everyone forget the Locker cup

1994 Beryl. We won everything at every level that year. I have a photograph with all the trophies (12 of them).

Of course it’s a proper cup. Wire won it on the toss of a coin

in the first match.
Proper team photos since have shown the Locker Cup in Wigans armoury.

How is it not?
It looked like a cup/trophy to me when I’ve seen the captain carrying it. It also looked like a cup/trophy when I’ve seen it in the trophy cabinet.
