What a player this bloke has become. While French Field Smith Etc get all the plaudits i actually think Ellis has become the most important part of our team now. Massive drop off in his link up ball playing when he’s off the pitch and he’s the most complete forward I’ve seen in a Wigan shirt in a long time. Let’s hope we can tie him down to a new contract soon

He’s signed until the end of 2026 so no need to worry.

When he does go he will be missed one of my favourites since he joined though I have to say he’s far exceeded my expectations of him

He is now world-class and it was noticeable how impressed the Aussie commentators were with his progress from basic prop to ball-playing loose-forward who can still mix it up front as a prop.

It’s funny you should say that, I was talking with a few guys following the game and none of us can remember us playing so well as we did in the first hour and we have been watching Wigan for a very long time. They were simply unbeatable, and a joy to watch.

My lad was saying this is the best team in his time and was asking me - i'd have to go back to some of the challenge cup finals in that long run we had or maybe when we had Henry Paul in his prime but I can't recall such a complete. spectacular performance for so long against a decent team?
