* Tickets for the Fourth Round tie are available to purchase online HERE.

MATT PEET HAS LOOKED AHEAD TO SATURDAY’S BETFRED CHALLENGE CUP FOURTH ROUND CLASH AGAINST HULL FC.

Talking through the training preparations, Peet said: “The lads had the opportunity to freshen up physically, but more important mentally after the Huddersfield game. They’ve all came back in determined, optimistic and with a spring in their step. Training has still been relatively light, but we’ve been intelligent.”

Speaking on the difference in preparation for league and cup competitions, Peet said: “We’ve had conversations around the cup and what’s at stake, but as far as technical and tactical preparations go not so much. Most clubs talk about processes and how to build and improve which won’t change as you’re still trying to get a better performance than the week before no matter the competition.”

On facing Hull FC, Peet said: “We expect it to be closer than when we met a few weeks ago. They’ll have learnt a little bit from playing us, they’ve got players back from injuries, and they’re improving anyway under John Cartwright. Those combinations have led to them starting really well.”

Praising the atmosphere at The Brick Community Stadium, Peet said: “As a Club we’re always trying to improve whilst building on and off the field. Last week was a great atmosphere and occasion, and everything we do is geared towards creating the best we can on gameday. We understand this week is an extra financial commitment, but if people can find the cash and time then I’m sure the game won’t disappoint.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s Reserves derby against St Helens at Robin Park Arena, Peet said: “This will be a clash between two teams who are competitive at all grades. There’s no doubt that some of the players playing will be on First Team stage in the near future. In it’s own right it will be a really good game.”

Speaking on the ‘We Are Wigan Warriors’ documentary, Peet said: “We really enjoyed the process because of the way JAM and the Club presented it in what they wanted to achieve and the ways they were going to go about it. Once you decide to commit you’ve got to go all in and we granted open access. The crew became part of the team for what was an interesting year. It made me proud when watching back, and it’s a great way to reflect on the season.”

Supporting the search for missing Darren Orme, Peet said: “Both clubs are trying to raise as much awareness as we can to hopefully bring Darren back home safely. There’s a lot of concern as shown in the way the community have turned out to help his family the best they can. Everyone connected to Darren are in our thoughts.”

Tickets for Saturday’s clash against Hull FC remain available to purchase from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office and online HERE with General admission Adult tickets now just £10.

Eckersley shares Challenge Cup importance

* Zach Eckersley has stressed the importance of the Challenge Cup ahead of Saturday’s Fourth Round tie against Hull FC.

* Eckersley: “We know how big a trophy the Challenge Cup is for the Club and town.”

* General admission adult tickets are available for £10 online HERE.

ZACH ECKERSLEY HAS STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CHALLENGE CUP AHEAD OF SATURDAY’S FOURTH ROUND HOME TIE AGAINST HULL FC.

Having beaten Sheffield Eagles in the Third Round, the Warriors will continue their Challenge Cup defence at The Brick Community Stadium with a tough test against Super League opposition.

Eckersley scored on his second competition appearance in South Yorkshire, having made his debut in the Club’s Challenge Cup Final victory against Warrington Wolves last season.

Following Adam Keighran’s suspension just a week before the final at Wembley Stadium, Eckersley walked out on the biggest of stages under the famous Wembley Stadium arch. With 18 minutes on the clock, a kick through from Bevan French was collected and grounded first by Eckersley to score the first of three Wigan tries in an 18-8 win.

Reflecting on the moment, Eckersley said: “It was a special and surreal day for myself and the team. I’d managed to settle my nerves in training but they built up again before kick off. I had a chat in the dressing room with Lockers [Sean O’Loughlin], and although I can’t remember the specifics, the main message was just to go out an enjoy myself.”

Eckersley added: “Hearing that from someone like Lockers helped ease the nerves and allowed me to focus on getting involved early so things wouldn’t pass by. and not let things pass by. The try was mostly a blur but it was a proud feeling scoring at Wembley in front of my family who were there supporting in the stands. Being able to celebrate the win with our families made the occasion even more memorable.”

Stressing the importance of the Challenge Cup competition to the Club, Eckersley added: “It’s massive, especially in Wigan. It’s the oldest competition in the game and Wigan have been so successful over the years. We’re still in the early rounds now but our aim as a team is to add to that history. We know how big a trophy the Challenge Cup is to win for the Club and the town.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s tie against Hull FC, Eckersley said: “We had a few days off at the start of the week which has massively helped to freshen things up. We’ve had a strong few training sessions and now we are all ready to go again this Saturday.”

Praising the Warriors support, Eckersley said: “It was a tough first half but our supporters dug deep to help the lads get a good win. Our supporters have been amazing so far this season and hopefully we can create another special moment together on Saturday evening.”

Don’t miss out on a home double-header this Saturday as our Reserves take on St Helens at Robin Park Arena (12pm K.O.) before our First Team tie at The Brick Community Stadium (5:45pm K.O.). With one ticket permitting entry to both matches, secure yours from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office or online HERE.

The BBC have 4 channels. Can't they put it on one of them? Can't record the Red Button.

Ive said this before, but sky not allowing sky sports subscribers to watch RL through different providers is a massive kick in the balls to a lot of people
