Hull FC swoop to sign Wigan Warriors forward

Hull FC have fended off competition to sign Wigan prop Harvie Hill.
Hull FC have secured their fourth signing for the 2026 season, with the Black and Whites fending off competition from rival Super League clubs to acquire young Wigan Warriors forward Harvie Hill to a multi-year deal.
All Out Rugby League understands that Hill has completed a move to the Black and Whites for next season and beyond, with the 21-year-old prop opting for John Cartwright's side over moves elsewhere on both sides of the Pennines.
Showing their intent to recruit a squad fielding both youth and experience, Hull have been keen to add Hill to their 2026 squad for several weeks and have now managed to convince the player to make the move to East Yorkshire.
In an era where young British forwards are coming at a premium, the Whitehaven-born middle is highly thought of and is tipped to have a big future in the game. Standing at six foot two and weighing over 100 kg, he is the fourth new recruit to commit their future to Cartwright's side for 2026, with Hull, as exclusively reported by Hull Live, already securing deals for experienced St Helens duo Joe Batchelor and James Bell, not to mention rising York Knights youngster Connor Bailey.
Hill, meanwhile, played his junior rugby league at Cumbrian-based community club Hensingham before joining the Wigan youth system, where he never looked back. He was voted Wigan's academy player of the year back in 2021 and made his senior debut in 2022.
The prop added 14 appearances to his name in 2023 before making a further 16 last year, including in the World Club Challenge win over NRL Premiers Penrith Panthers. He also played two games on loan at French outfit Toulouse Olympique back in 2023 and a further four at London Broncos. To date, he has 40 first-grade appearances to his name and has scored three tries.
He will be part of a rebuilding and resurgent Hull squad next year, with the club still to make some key retention decisions. They have signed young quartet Harvey Barron, Lewis Martin, Denive Balmforth, and Will Hutchinson to new deals, with the likes of Jack Ashworth, Brad Fash, Will Gardiner, and Zach Jebson all out of contract.
