WIGAN WARRIORS ARE DELIGHTED TO CONFIRM THAT JAI FIELD HAS SIGNED A NEW FOUR-YEAR DEAL WITH THE CLUB. THE CONTRACT IS FOR THE 2026 AND 2027 SEASONS, WITH TWO OPTIONS FOR 2028 AND 2029.
The 27 year-old joined Warriors from Parramatta Eels in 2021 but suffered an injury on his debut against Leigh at Headingley in the behind-closed-doors pandemic game. He returned later that year and lit up the competition in 2022, when he also won his first piece of silverware with the team in the Betfred Challenge Final at Tottenham Stadium, in which he scored a second-half try.
He was also shortlisted for the 2022 Steve Prescott Man of Steel award, being pipped to the honour by Brodie Croft and he won the RLWBA Player of the Year award in the same year.
Field also played a significant part in the team’s success in 2023 and 2024, collecting two League Leaders’ Shields, two Super League titles, a second Challenge Cup and a World Club Challenge. Field has played 89 games for Warriors, scoring 57 tries and four goals.
On signing the new deal, Jai Field said: “I’m really pleased to be extending my stay here at Wigan. I’m very grateful to the Club and the fans who have shown so much faith in me over the past few seasons.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of being here so far and looking forward to hopefully some more great memories here with this group and Club.”
Warriors Head Coach Matt Peet said: “We’re delighted Jai has committed his future to the Club. He’s a quality player who brings energy, excitement, and a real X-factor to our team.
“Just as importantly, he’s a great teammate and a big part of our culture. We believe his best years are still ahead of him, and we’re proud that they’ll be in a Wigan shirt.”
