Referee for Friday!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Referee for Friday!
Dear oh Dear!
Smith ref'd the Leeds game away, now the HKR game away.
He gave the pen count to Leeds by 5-1 and the 6 agains by 3-0. That's 8 sets to 1 awarded to Leeds.
If he does the same at HKR then we've no chance of a win.
His antics at Leeds led to a loss by 2 when the Rhinos are not a good team at all. HKR are a very good team who are in form. An award of 8 sets to 1 like Leeds could be very difficult for our lads.
Time has long passed when referees and their seniors should be held to account for their performances. As we know from another thread the lack of penalties to Wigan this season compared to other teams is significant and the RFL should be held to account and an explanation demanded.
Pity Rush is the VR and not the match referee. That would be interesting.

Perhaps we offended someone in a past life! Let's win despite him, even though Luke T's out..

Concentration and discipline is what we need to keep. Lack of either of these and God only knows what might happen. It's all well and good keep blaming the referees all the time, but if we give the ref an ounce of a decision to make, he will batter us all day long.

That's all well and good, but in a game of fine margains, you need to be able to push the boundaries at times. When you have a referee who don't give you anything but penalise you at every turn, you start questioning everything you do and pulling out from certain situations giving the opposite team an advantage.outback wiganer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 12:52 pm Concentration and discipline is what we need to keep.
