England v Ozzies possibles

i cant remember if there was a bit of a debate on here or RLfans, but couldnt find it :)

Who are people thinking will make the squad from an England perspective. I think there are some dead certs and personally i think Pryce coming back over here adds depth to the squad. I've highlighted the ones i think would start where i've put multiple players contending for a position

Welsby
Young
Farnworth / King
Wardle / Newman
Marshall / Burgess / Davies / Ashton / Johnstone
Williams / Pryce / Lewis
Smith / Dodd

Thompson / Burgess / Walmsley / Lees / Mulhearn / Oledzki / Havard (injury permitting) / Sutton / edit i'd forgotten Walters :)
Clark / O'Neill / Walker
Junior / KPP / Bateman / Currie
Victor / Knowles / Minchella (but would say way down on the other 2) / Smithies

i think there are players there with some versatility ie Pryce i think can play 1 or 6, similar with Welsby, as many think he'd be better in the halves, Currie / Bateman give us a bit of cover at centre, although certainly not specialist

any glaring omissions from my suggestions above

Based on current form I would say Matty Nicholson has to be in the squad, possibly at the expense of Bateman.

Not that I expect Waney to consider them being the proud English man that he is, but wouldn’t Bevan be eligible to play if he where show an interest in representing England.

good shout re Nicholson. I agree Bateman may not get selected but Waney likes him, as he's done a job for him before

There was also an article i read last week about another prop. mother is english and was born over here, but dad ozzie, and they've lived over there for years, but cant find it or remember his name :)

unsure about Bevan but i'd be happy for him to stay an Ozzie, and get the off season off to recover :)

i'd also forgotten about Sneyd and Connor, but personally wouldnt select either of them, unless we were really struggling with a goal kicker

I was going to mention Nicholson and maybe McDonald but they are "signed" up for Ireland (I think?). I;d also like the look of Harrison

Nicholson available for England but McDonnell (assuming you are thinking of James at Leeds) has already played for Ireland

Harrison a big unit and another possibility, and think he can cover front and backrow

I'd have Nicholson in over Batty. Also Sneyd over Dodd everyday of the week

I have doubts about young on the wing.
Yes he’s quick but he’s weak under the ball and in defence, although I will admit he’s looked abit better this year.
He might struggle against a good Aussie international team.

That's a fair comment, but who would fare better? Ashton? Marshall?

I’d pick Marshall, not being biased, just think he’s got a better all round game and is reasonably quick.
Some might say Ashton but can’t say much as I haven’t seen much of him, some others might think different.
