Leigh Leopards star banned as Hull FC half Cade Cust learns fate after red card

Leigh Leopards hooker Edwin Ipape has received a one-game suspension and will miss the Leythers' game against Salford Red Devils this Saturday.

Ipape has received a Grade C Dangerous Contact charge, an offence that carries five penalty points. That puts his total penalty points over the last twelve months at 7.5, putting him in the threshold for a first ban of the year.

Meanwhile, Hull FC half-back Cade Cust has avoided a suspension following his red card against Hull KR on Good Friday.

Cust was sent off in the 16th minute after making accidental head contact with Rovers full-back Arthur Mourgue. But the Australian is now free to play against Wigan Warriors on Sunday, with the player charged for the incident but avoiding a ban.

He has been handed a Grade C Head Contact charge, a grading lower than previous incidents seen this season, with three penalty points also going on his record. In total, Cust was given five penalty points. However, two are taken off his record due to his first-half dismissal. He has also been fined.

Elsewhere, Hull back Jordan Rapana has received two separate charges for late hits on the passers. They are both judged as Grade A offences. He has been fined for each charge, receiving two penalty points in total. He has five now on his record.

Hull KR's Jez Litten has also been charged for a Grade A trip, with nine other players all receiving the lowest grade charge. They are Moses Mbye, Liam Farrell, Cooper Jenkins, Jordan Crowther, Edwin Ipape, Harvey Makin, Oliver Partington, Fouad Yaha, and Mathieu Laguerre.

Pleased to see some (not enough?) differentiation between the Walters and Mbye sin binnings but, if Sam wasn't given any penalty points, does that mean that he shouldn't have been binned in the first place?

Farrell gets the same point as Mbye, for something I don't remember happening, live or on a TV replay of the game, when Mbye hit Eckersley high with a shoulder.
As said before, the disciplinary process is a complete joke.

Not sure there was any. Mbye's point is for Late Contact, not Head Contact, so its probably for a separate incident.

I've justed posted on the Walters thread about the incidents -

Mbye is a very lucky boy indeed, I think. I just watched the game back, and seeing it on TV, it's very clear that there is no comparison at all between Walters and his hit on ZE.

Mind you, I agree with the comments upthread about not minding him staying in the team! I never rated him much, in the NRL or SL, and he was particularly poor on Friday.
