From a Leyther ........

Seriously, from a avid Leigh fan, I cannot believe the decision that has been made.

How can you release Ian Millward given the talent and potential he has?. Rome wasn't built in a day and Millward had a limited set of tools to do it with at Wigan.

Not the best decision I have seen, the people responsable are clearly looking for a stool pigeon and Ian is the very person they have targetted.

rome wasn't built in a day, wigan could go down in a season mind you and we have difficult fixtures coming up, with injuries, with no game plan, with a bunch of players who call them selves professionals

But we're bottom of the league, getting worse with every game, with the risk of losing touch with the rest of the league. Darren Abram didn't last the season for you lot last year, and it's not unusual to sack the coach when you're struggling (gawd knows we've sacked coaches when we've been 2nd in the league!). Everyone was saying something had to be done, and the only people who can make a direct impact on what happens on the field for the rest of this year are the players (the few that are still fit enough to play) and the coach. For all the "sack Maurice" ranting that's going on, he isn't going to win or lose us any games and so could not make the slightest difference to our immediate problem. As a Leigh fan you'll know what it's like when you start to lose ground with the rest of the league, there's little you can do when it's too late.

The players' performance in the next couple of games should be telling. If IM had lost the dressing room and the players suddenly spark into life, then him going is the right thing to do. If we're still rubbish then IM won't be the last one out the door...

we can all see the players are a shadow of what they should be and millward has had enough games to at least get them looking like a team BUT HE COULDNT EVEN DO THAT good riddance

Take it from a fan who has seen the aspirations of Super-league slip from their fingers so many times.

You've got to continue to speculate to remain in S.L.

Without sounding like a troll, it makes me wonder how many cracks were being papered over in the past months, considering A.F leaving and Rads later on.

Makes you sort of wonder whether certain individuals had seen the writing on the wall and didn't want to play a part in it?

Your having a laugh "Black Pearl". "Good riddance"?, I.M will be continuing to cost you a fortune before you sign someone to replace him (and who will that be, John Kear?).

I'm not convinced I.M lost the dressing room, it's more the injuries and the fan base that have shown him the door - don't forget as I said, you need the tools to do the job!

Well to those players I'd say... good riddance! No loyalty there then.

Return To The Terraces your so right. I.M is a man of great knowledge and truely was the man for the job. I know the coach seems to take the blame in sport dfor poor performances but I must say the players who haven't shown any heart and pride should be the ones who get sacked. Lets hope we are both in super league next year but at the minute you have a better chance of coming up than us staying up.
