When Lindsay came to the club and chaired his first A.G.M. He said, and I quote, " It will take me three years to turn this team around." It has taken him a lot longer and he has managed to turn it around the wrong way. He has no excuse. He bought and sold players. He was in sole charge. It is his fault and his fault only that the the club is now in this position. He should do the decent thing and resign. He refuses to be interviewed on G.M.R. What kind of a person is he if he can't go public and justify his actions over the past years at the club. Does he not realise that he has failed ? He owes it to the fans. He must resign. Let a director of rugby be appointed, someone who knows players. I am amazed that Mr. Whelan still tolerates him. I have a passionate interest in the club having been a supporter for the last 60 years. It upsets me when I and others can see what is wrong with the club and nothing is done about it. I have lived through the bad times before, I don't want them to happen again.

He needs to go, and i am sure the fans will be singing and holding banners till he gets the message.
Only problem is, he and DW are very very good friends, hes now a board member at Latics don't forget, so if we got another chairman, wouldn't DW chuck us out of the JJB perhaps? He says he has a passion for both rugby and football but you never know.
It's not a good time to be a Wigan supporter right now

He must have some dirt on Whelan for Whelan to have tolerated him for so long!

I'm not sure if I understand the logic in that? Why would our chairman affect whether we play at the stadium or not? ML wasn't in charge when we moved into the place in 1999, although he was appointed pretty soon afterwards (and it was good riddance to Mr Norbury at the time as well).

Maurice Lindsay was forever being asked to stand aside by the fans and let the coach pick the sigings despite a pretty good record over the years of doing the signings himself.
He stepped aside this year and even backed Millward over the exit of Newton for Higham.
We are bottom of the league when the coach was the man doing the signings so Mo is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Mo has signed some great players when he could simply pay them the earth. In this more recent era the quality of his sigings has plummeted. Just because he used to be able to do it doesn't mean we owe him anything.
Someone posted earlier that ML has turned the Wigan coaching job into a poison chalice and that is entirely accurate.
IMO for that alone he should go, but in any case he is obviously past his sell by date. He should walk away now.

And that's exactly how I feel.
No matter what he does or doesn't do he'll get the blame. Wigan fans are quick to forget the good people do for this club, other fans don't turn on their own staff half as much as we do. Give him a break will you. He got the coach "everyone wanted" (minus a few on here includin me) he moved aside to let him take over the club and bring us down, he had arguments with Milly because Mo is passionate about Wigan and is a loyal chairman who will stand by this club until he is sacked, by the way if he did resign now would you be as quick to say "o look standing down now were at our worst in seasons" ?
He even budged over to help with the Latics because he couldn't get on with Milly and obviously wasn't enjoying his job as much as he used to, to let the oh so wanted coach do his job on his own just like Wiganers wanted.
And STILL he gets blamed??? Can he do nothing to please you people.

Do you honestly think that Mo would have just gone out and bought players without any consultation with the coach at that time.
Mo was finding the players, he was going out to watch them play, he was giving the choice to the coaches and then surely they would say well we need a winger or whatever and he looks good, but initially it was Mo finding the talent.
