Worst fans?

Post by Jilly43 »

I have been browsing the sites of Bradford, Saints and Leeds. The general feeling is that the wigan fans are letting down the team.
Although I hate to admit it the fans do seem to be turning on the team.

Do the fans really want to go back to the days when you would turn up at central park not with excitement in your belly because you didnt know who would win the game, but with a "How many will we win by today" attitude.

I personally will take the excitement anyday, there was no better feeling than in the challenge cup last year turning over St Helens after going in as underdogs.
Come on fans lets show that we can support our team Win or Lose!!!

i agree with u totally, although I have to admit it's getting extremely disheartening seeing as we havent won a match for how long. Mind u, I am taking EXCEPTIONAL pleasure in seeing Saints being dragged down too. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Couldnt happen to a nicer team. Anyways, were u totally bored when u were scanning their sites?!

Got to agree the the team deserve better fans. It is about time some of these so called Wigan fans got behind their team, got to the JJb for home games at least, instead of moaning about it not being Central Park.

Don't listen to fans of other teams. They don't give a stuff about Wigan and will think of any excuse to have a go. Calling a spade a spade does not mean someone does not support the team.

By that I mean having a moan about (for example) Lindsay's handling of the cash so we have so many kids does not mean you don't support the team.

I would hazard a guess that well over 90% of the Wigan posters on Internet message boards do supporet the team and go to games no matter what their opinion of the current squad. In fact I'll bet those who don't approve most stongly and wonder why on earth we have ended up with such an unbalanced side are as vocal as anyone else who thinks the current situation is all part of some master plan.

As to always winning, well how many years has that not been the case? Quite a few so it gets me mad when people suggest the reason why Wigan fans complain is because we expect to win all the time. We are as entitled to have a moan as any other side when things are not right and to voice our opinions as to what is wroing or what would sort it out etc.

What is worse is when Wigan fans swallow the propaganda and accuse other Wigan fans for moaning because we expect to win all the time.

That is just nothing to do with it IMO.

Coul;dnt of put it better myself Dave. These other teams fans are trying to turn our own against us.There is not something in the water in Wigan that makes us different to fans of other teams.

To put it bluntly, all teams have fans who leave early, all teams have fans who pick and choose their games and lastly all teams have glory hunters.Wiganers are no different than any other fans.

This crap has come from our glory days. When we where winning everything we where bound to get the glory hunters jumping on the band wagon. Now we no longer dominate the sport those glory hunters have now started to drop off.It would be the same for any team.If say Castleford dominated for the next ten years, there attendances would go through the roof yet when they started losing there attendances would start to fdall and they would then get called bad supporters etc, etc.

Dont buy the bullcrap from other fans!

I for one have never said Wigan have the worst fans, and if you look carefully you will find that those on the Bradford MB who knock you are in fact Stains fans. The majority of TRUE Bulls fans have nothing but respect for your team, club, & fans. Most of us say that as visitors you are the best, before & after the games both set's of fans drink together, have a gentle dig at each other and go home content there is never any real trouble between our two sets of supporters, though EVERY club has a % of D***heads. Our MB like many others is crawling with Stains 'coz they can't get on their own MB, can't produce a utility bill, signatures from parents, grand parents & great-great grand parents signed in blood!!

You got it spot on Gai-Jin.I have never had any trouble with Bradford fans, infact i have quite a few Bulls who are friends.

Going back to the original post you have to look at our recent form.We are now at our weakest for many a year. The glory hunters are bound to drop off in large numbers.Every team has glory hunters, apart from Saints that is ;-) Other teams seem to of improved and attracted the glory hunters whilst we have lost ours due to our poor form/results.We also lost a lot of older supporters after moving from Central Park. Some of the older fans will never get over that.I dont think anyone wanted to move from CP but the fact is we had no choice in the end and at the end of the day its still Wigan RLFC so they should just get over it.

I can say for certain,if Wigan could put a decent team together and win a few trophys on the run the glory hunters would be back in numbers.
