I agree with what you are saying. I think Lam would be a good second at Wigan under a strong coach.

I would like to state now that Adrain Lam is not the man for the job.
I agree, he isn't.
Adrian Lam was one of the best players I have ever seen. I yunderstand that he is a well respected coach so far as his time with the U-21 and what he is doing with Raper at Cronulla... but he's not the man to get Wigan out of trouble.
Far too inexperienced and why the board at Wigan would think he was the right man to sort this mess out I don't know. It needs a coach like Noble to sort this out. If we sack Millward and give the job ti Lam then I give up.
coaching a top Wigan side is the hardest job in the world, coaching a poor wigan side is managerial suicide.
You could say the same for Noble coming here but it isn't Lam's future I would be worried about if he was appointed coach but the fact I would be expecting to watch NL1 RL next season.

I'd like to see him here as an assistant to Noble, or whoever, with a view to bringing him in long-term....much as Bradford did with Noble under Elliot, and we did with Gregory under Raper.

At last a sensible thread on Lam. Well said all.

I have to agree with what you've said no he's not the man at the moment maybe in near future maybe but if we dont get Noble who do we get the other people in the running it said on the BBC website were john kear chris anderson Andy Farrell and sean Edwards i would like to have Karl Harrison or Paul Cullen but I doubt they'll come
The longer Noble takes over this decision the less likely Wigan are to having any highly regarded coach. Being left on his every word is making the club a laughing stock.

What hapens if he says no?

Any self-respecting coach (and by that I mean those that are good enough to be in regular employment!)will think twice about coming to the JJB as they already know they are AT LEAST second choice.

But again this 'kerfuffle'could had been avoided if ML could for once in his life hold his water and not make announcements until the deal is done & dusted!

Agreed. In the words of Private Fraser "the mans a damn fool, we're all doomed, doomed I tell you"

Maurice didn't name Noble initially, it was leaked by Bradford.
