WELCOME TO WIGAN Mr. NOBLE!!

Post by ancientnloyal »

As a Wigan fan I would like to welcome Mr Noble to this great rugby league town with open arms. His reputation in the game at Bradford and Great Britain is second to none and it is a great honour for you to coach this changing Wigan outfit.
Since specualtion grew over the last week us fans have to put up with gossip every day... will he - wont he? stories. But at last the situation has been sorted out and 99.9% of Wigan fans are pleased to have a talented coach to steer us from the bottom of Super League.

We know you need time to build the squad, know the players, know the backroom staff etc... and we fans are confident you'll put us back to where we historically belong.

Hope you will look forward to working with Wigan's youth, especially Chris Ashton, Bryn Hargreaves, Tomkins et al.

Welcome on board Brian.

Good news, finally the situation has been resolved.

I'm making this the main thread for comment on Noble's appointment, partially to stop us having 25 threads saying the same thing but also because I like the thread title! So please put your comments here instead of starting something new. Thank you.

Don't feel as bad as when Millward was announced. Couldn't stomach him at Wigan but Noble has a good reputation as both a coach and a person. Professional man with a good coaching record.

Welcome to Wigan, hope you're given a fair chance.

Good news, but Maurice's last roll of the dice.

If it carries on going pear-shaped now, then we'll have to look much deeper into the problem than the coaching.

Having said that, it's difficult slagging the chairman off today.

If this lifts the team as much as its lifted us fans then we are in for a cracking match on Saturday. For the first time in ages I'm optimistic. Great news!

Well done maurice. I am sure that no-body else in the world of rugby league could have attracted the best British coach around to Wigan, in the position we are in. I know he has taken a lot of stick this last couple of weeks, and like any bookie he cant be trusted 100% :) but even if just for today lets give him the praise he deserves. :eusa2:

Really excited at this appointment coz as mentioned a couple other times he is a professional both on and off the field. Come on MO/DW give him a proper chance.

Good luck Nobby, get us back where we belong.
