Since the start of the super league season Our new captain has been sean o' Loughlin. As a captain you should lead ur team out a show them how to play the game. Sean HAS made sum gd plays this season but over all he has dropped the ball at least twice in each match giving away vital possesion. I think Sean O' Loughlin should give up his captains title and give it 2 sum1 who reali deserves it. Either Brian Fletcher, Pat Richards or Feka Palea'asina!!

its not that Sean O'Loughlin wasnt a good captian it just that he wasnt ready to take that responsibilty. someone with more experince should have took the roll of captian even if it wasnt perinent. it wasnt fair on him as he hadnt played for nealy a season he come back out of injury and ended up being captian. Credit to Sean but maby now why there is some players willing to take the roll as captian he should maby hand it over and consetrate on himself insted of trying to captian the whole team.
but well done to Sean

what? :conf:
you are basing this info from one match? easily one of our hardest workers week in week out and fair enough he gives some penalties away and what have you but he tackles his heart out, attacks well yet you criticize. it has got to be ahrd on sean as it's his first eyar as captain and we have really struggled.
maybe next year trent barret will get it as he captains st george illawara. or maybe even fletcher. richards and feka? the dont shout. ive seen richards trying to jee a few players up by clapping. fielden would make a good captain because he is vocal and is a firey player.

I agree with the above Fielden is more vocal than Lockers, and he does seem to gee them up, so maybe Lockers should hand over captaincy to someone else next season.

I noticed that on Fieldens debut when calderwood was throwing up it was he that went across to offer words of support as he knew he had been out for a while. where was o loughlin. The most vocal players seem to be orr, fletcher and fielding. Oloughlin does not seem to have the confidence to organise his pack. He easily gets frustated makes silly mistakes which often result in giving away penalities ( ie high tackling, knock on).
I think the captaincy should go to someone older with more experience

Anyways... there has been a lot of talk about how fit Sean is to Captain a Wigan side all season. Yes he's a young 'un, not much experience etc... and yes there are plenty of better candidates, eg Fielden or Brown!... but being Millwards' club captain it would be unwise for Noble to change captaincy during a season, and would probably review the situation during the winter, Noble's decision.
Also see Mikes (i think) vote about Sean and the captaincy, see what us fans think about it.

How many times is this going to be posted.Sean is our captain and should by supported as a damn good player. he gives his all every match and tackles like a proper wigan lad.
its been a hard season all round and when we hammer everyone next year nobody will be calling for sean to hand over the role then.
Get behind the lad and stop moaning

It is clear Lockers is no captain, however to take away the position now I feel would be wrong and would be pointless. I will be bold and say that it is clear who the captain will be next year in Fielden.
As far as Lockers tackling I will say he is one of the poorest tacklers I have seen wear the cherry and white and cannot understand what the coaching team down there are doing.
Give him to me for one afternoon and it will be sorted!

Do we really need another of these threads? It's been done to death already, surely.

We have this convo time after time after time
Sell Lockers and give the captaincy to Fletcher or Fielden
