Lot of talk about Millard, Newton etc but can't see any mention of Michael Withers. Rugby League News had a feature on it. Have I missed a topic or did no one else read it?? Says that Withers is signing for 2007.

I hope we do not. He is at the wrong age, riddled with injury and we have Chris ashton at fullback. I cannot understand Millard either. I like Godwin.

I seriously hope this doesn't come off.

It's a move in wrong direction IMO.
With the right coaching and advice ashton will only get better and better, a lot better than withers IMO.

The boy has pace to burn and plenty of skill, a few improvements to the weaker aspects of his game, support play and coming into the line at the right time(which rads who was best FB in super league can help him with) should see him scoring plenty of try's and developing into the best FB in superleague.

Isn't withers a quota player?
I can see the logic in the millard move as higham and godwin have similar games and he would bring experience, but IMO wagga will only bet better with time too

all i can say is there not every ones choice but noble is a very shrewd man and like he says world class players are contracted up and a lot of them will be freed up in 2008 so they could be just to fill the gaps we do need cover next year at full back the millard one does confuse me a bit but give noble the space to build us a team andwe will get a successfull one

Maybe his plan is to play Ashton on the wing if Richards is going to leave, and then play Withers at fullback.

IMO withers is no better than what we have now.We arebuilding a decent team with centres and wing prob the weakest part of our team we need players there who fear our opponents and withers dosent

If Radlinski cant push ashton out of full back position on his return, then theres no way withers can be full back for us next year. Its not logical at all. I cant see any benefits in signing another past it aussie (yes i know he's off quota but still). If anything he needs to sort out the wings/centres if patty's going home.
