In the daily express this morning it says that Danny Orr has signed a 3 year deal with harlequins as he has been replaced for next year by Trent Barret. No mention of us signing anyone else though.

The express is usually better than papers like the star with sports reporting and so if it is correct then all I can say is Wigan must be nuts.

A bad example, I'm afraid Dave. The Express and the Star are the same company, they share stories across the two papers (what you see wrt RL in one paper normally appears in the other the next day). But overall the Express group papers are better than the News Group (Sun / News of the World) or Mirror Group for reliable reporting. There are rumours the Sunday Sport once mentioned rugby league, but I think it was only in relation to Samantha Janus' shower scene in the film Up 'n' Under...!

Thank god I read The Times, kinda like the National Geographic, you get pulled into believing it as fact.

I was expecting Orr to go. Noble knows what he's doing and is building for the future, if Danny Orr isnt in his plans then so be it. Its a shame danny didnt have a better start to 2006 season.

I don't know why everyone is saying it's silly to let Orr go. He has been at Wigan for 3 seasons and apart from the latter part of last season and a handfull of games towards the end of the 2005 season, he has been pretty poor. I know he can play well but we can't have a player that is only going to shine for half a season. If Nobby can get the best out of Barrett and possibly Leuluai then I have no probs with us offloading Danny Orr. Good luck to him wherever he ends up, except when he's playing against Wigan.

It's been confirmed by the BBC now.

A disappointment, certainly.

Well lets see, he puts in 100% effort, has great defence and now Noble is here is great at doing what he should on attack (and IMO it is no coincidence he has imporved since Noble arrived).

So if you have a player who has those attributes the obvious question is, why ship him out for a player who appears injury prone - lulu?

Well we know he can the best out of Orr so why fix it if it aint broke?

I casn't recall the last time Wigan shipped out a player showing the form of Orr for an uinknown quantity.

As to him not dong well against Wigan I think if we do ship him out here is one player who will come back and bite us big time. He will be out to rip us to shreds and he is quite caapable of doing that to a side including us.
