To help you all decide, here are some stats, courtesy of Bilko's excellent website:

I've gone for Boston, in terms of sheer number of appearances and tries, and just his "presence" on the pitch.
I know Offiah had a better tries/game strike rate, but, as someone else has mentioned, Boston played for us for 15 years!
The big difference between the two was Boston had strength as well as speed - I remember so many of his tries where he left a trail of bodies behind him on the way to the line.

Boston by a country mile. fantastic at his peak and far below his very best. Offiah at his peak was sublime, when his pace evaporated he was very ordinary.

At the ripe old age of 29 i have never seen Boston play, all i heard from my grandad was there will never be another billy Boston and he was never one to dish out praise undeservedly. As a youngster i was lucky enough to have seen Offiah and Robinson play at their peak. Of the two i belive Robinson was the more complete player but for sheer excitement and childhood nostalga i have gone for Chariots.

Even though I voted for Martin Offiah - I still really like Billy Boston. I meet him in about 97 and he was such a genuine person who had so much time for the fans - quite why he hasn't been given a knighthood is beyond me

yes boston in my opinion was the best winger wigan have ever had .at a time when there was sullivan vollenhoven, bevan, o grady, phill jackson andlewthwaite all at the same time in the league it was a very exiting time ,plus we had a lot more matches to watch we were very lucky in them days.

I only put Richards on for a giggle, go on own up!
That's like having best centre and chosing DV instead of Twiggy, Gary C, Gene Miles, Iro etc...

I believe Bevan is the greatest winger of all time and Billy B is no 2

I didn't realise Bevan played for Wigan. (look at the title of the thread).

I voted for Robinson, even though Offiah was my favourite. I still have my kiddies 'robinson #2' 1990s shirt somewhere...
any shout for Henderson Gill by anyone?
