I know this has probably been discussed before, I went to buy my season tickets. I asked about the executive parking, the lady told me that she would advise paying the £35 to park in the East stand car park which is now the executive parking area, as jjb will be charging £4 per car per match as from the new season. Can anyone here confirm if she is correct because that will mean paying nearly £70 to watch the home matches which to be truful is out of order. As if DW doesnt already make enough from us.

I have paid for the parking ticket BUT yes as far as I know that is correct. There are free car parking areas near B & Q and opposite Frankie / Bennys.

The parking charge is scandalous and I also think the membership schemes are a rip off given they offer hardly anything.

As I understand, this is for parking right next to the stadium.
Remaining car parks do not belong to the JJB, so I can't see them being able to charge for these (unless someone out there knows soething different)

looks like im parking in Springfield and walking via frog lae then. £4 per match. I know bolton wanderers charge £5 and other stadiums charge the same but im used to having free parking!

£35 all of a sudden sounds great!

On which car parks? My understanding was if you wanted to park in the "executive parking" area but did not pay the £35 up front then it cost you £4 per match.

If you park on what is (I think) car park 4 which is the one further past the stadium heading south towards town and alongside the canal toward B&Q, then that was still free.

Am I correct in thinking this car park is still free?

I was under the impression some parking had to remain free as a condition of DW getting the planning permission for the ground.

This was in in part to stop people parking on streets and the retail car parks for free to avoid car park charges closer to the stadium.

By the way it is worded on the club site it seems like all other carparks wont be free next season...

ive just been to JJB to get my partners season ticket and ticked the '£35 exec parking' box... just in case it's £4 per match elsewhere.

Well it says:

"Parking charges may apply to other car parks."

I can't see how they can charge more for parking on the non-executive car parks than they will be doing on that one. For 13 home games at £4 a go that is £52.

If that was the case, car park 3 would already be sold out.

I always walk that way its easier when i get the bus/ sometimes i just walk down the canal

I paid because as somebody said you do not know what will happen. Dave O is right a % of spaces have to remain free. The problem is spaces are calculated as if cars were parked bumper to bumper with zero space between. That allows Whelan to charge for all bar the furthest car park wich I think is called the Away Supporters Car Park.

Our season tickets are great value and for that I am grateful. The silly membership schemes and car park fees are a rip off.

The only comment one could make is that whenever we go to other clubs' grounds we need to pay for parking if there is a proper car park, and I assume it's the same for their fans as well. If we do need to pay then we're only coming into line with everyone else. Although I think there should be a sliding scale of parking charge depending where you come from. If you're a season ticket holder travelling more than, say, 20 miles then you get a free/cheaper carpark pass. If you're just being lazy driving 3-4 miles (apart from disabled/elderly people etc) then you pay a lot more because you should be walking instead, lazy people!
