Here we go again, Lindsay sticking his beak in!

He just cannot help himself, I thought he would not show or express were a player should play and would leave it up to Noble without putting any pressure on him.
It's clear yet again he wants to pick the team.

This guy is just unreal. I agree we should get shut. He'll be "wanting" Ashton to play at prop next!!!!!!!!!!

Given that centre is currently our weakest spot and second row our strongest, I'd have thought ML was on reasonably safe ground here.

I know that people have a thing about Lindsay, and in many cases it's justified, but please don't keep constantly calling for his head. Who brought Noble here in the first place? Who signed Fielden?

Besides, Lindsay is good mates with Dave Whelan and is a major part of the furniture at the JJB, not just with the Warriors. It will never be as simple as Lindsay getting the sack.

You beat me too it. It is not rocket science to expect Bailey to be in the centres and there is even an outside chance Noble may have told Mo that is where he intends to play him given Bailey is an ex- SoO centre!

Mo is an easy target but picking up on this comment in the way it has been is paranoid IMO.

I wonder if other chairmen ever speculate to the press about how effective new recruits are going to be !!??

I must say when I read the article my first thought was 'What's it got to do with linsey where anyone plays'
I thought it was down to the coach to allot positions. He should keep his nose out and let Nobby do what he does best....Run the team.

The only speculation I can see is that of your own making re Nobby having told Mo where Bailey is to play!!

Mo isn't speculating about Bailey's effectiveness. He is clearly stating what position he thinks Bailey needs to be played in. I can't recall this happening at other clubs but if it has, who cares. It's this club I am concerned about. Mo needs to keep his snout out of matters that he is clearly not qualified to deal with.

However, in the rest of the WEP article from which I suspect this quote has been lifted, Mo goes on to speculate at some length about Bailey's effectiveness in BOTH the centre and in the second row, and waxes lyrical about what a good utility-guy we've got for ourselves.

I honestly don't see how this article could cause offence. In any case, it's just paper-talk. The chances are that Mo will have been misquoted several times in the article, because that always happens - he may have used far more discreet language than is being quoted here. We simply don't know, and never will.

A little dicky-bird (a fairly reliable one in this case) has told me that Noble isn't greatly fond of giving daily interviews to the press. It may be that, by mutual consent, Mo is handling most of enquiries that would normally be going to the head-coach.

BTW I am not offended by the article. I merely view Mo's comments these days with an air of resignation. The man has been without doubt the most innovative chairman any club has ever had. Unfortunately, that was back in the 80s. In the super League era we are following trends, not setting them.

I don't know who should replace him but I am of the opinion that he is past it. Simple as that really.

I can't really argue with that. I too think he's past it, but he is, by all accounts, a good buddy of Whelan's. Unless there's a complete calamity, I can't see him leaving the club until he himself wants to.
