Anyone know how this affects the huge car park opposite Frankie & Benny's?
Presume this will remain upon and free.
Don't live local, so would appreciate if someonw could confirm so I can decide where to park at the first home game

It definetly does not belong to Wigan RLFC. So no change. Still free

Did you see this bit:
"....and will be closed approximately
one hour before kick off for access and safety reasons."
I am absolutely furious about this. Traffic sometimes means me and my Dad get there about 30 mins or less before kick off and on a normal day we plan on being there about 40 mins early maximum.
To guarantee getting there an hour early means giving yourself at least 15 mins leeway which means setting off at 6pm for me for an 8 O'clock kick off. Absolutely ludicrous.
This has nothing to do with access and safety and everything to do with encouraging people to park in areas that pay.

As in my earlier post, use the one opposite Frankie & Benny's. It's a fair size, so can't see it filling up.
It can be a pain getting out after the match, but that's what the South Stand bar is for! Couple of sociable sweet sherries and watch Mike Binder pick up the obligatory raffle prize

That was my thought too Dave when I read it.
I have stumped up for a ticket. Now I am not expecting to lose my ticket but if you do they charge you the exact season fee again. We seem to have been allocated numbered parking spaces too. Wait and see I suppose.

We have used car park 4 because it takes us the right way out of town the quickest to get my Dad back to Hindley Green. When we first went to the JJB we tried parking around the F & B area and I can do without that. Prior to car park 4 we then parked on streets on the other side of the canal but my Dad is 81 on Monday and can no longer walk that far.
I can see myself getting a car park 3 slot if there are any left and I will resent each penny out of that £35.

I find it impossible to go into a bar and not have at least two pints and since I have to drive I avoid the place!

Dave O, happy birthday to your dad on Monday.
Can understand you parking as close as you can and don't blame you.
I'm lucky, as there are 2 of us that drive, so we can take it in turns for every other home game.

We use the same car park, across from frankie and bennys, have no problem getting on or off as go into the south stand bar after the match and as you say, watch mike pick up the raffle prizes. (hope it's a better season for prizes!!) Anybody who doesnt know me, I'm mike's wife.
