I had to laugh last night at our “lobby gobbler neighbors “.

I was having a drink in my local with some friends who support Leigh. They were telling me that they know a source close to the club who has revealed that Alex Murphy will be appointed head coach for next year. Oh dear, oh dear me!

One massive backward step for the Lobbies! – Never mind eh.

No, no, no OJ, they were far from laughing believe me!

They were seriously p***ed off about the whole situation. The source that they heard it from was a current player. Murphy and some other has-been as an assistant!

In a way I hope it's true. The way their fans conducted themselves in the challenge cup-tie was disgraceful!

You got it right Wills, I take it all back and you are right about the 'some other has been as an assistant' because its Tommy Martyn! If I had a hat I'd take it off to you - well done that man - we heard it first from Warrior Wills.

And I quote....

Rugby league legend Alex Murphy is to return to the game as football director of Leigh after the promotion-chasing National League One club sacked coach Paul Terzis.
Murphy, 63, will head up a new coaching team after ending a six-year exile to return to the club he has coached three times in the past.

The Centurions parted company with Terzis just a month before the National League Grand Final, when they are expected to made a third bid to claim a place in Super League.

The club have installed player-coach Tommy Martyn and another Leigh stalwart, Norman Turley, as assistant coaches, and also appointed former Wigan and St Helens commercial manager Alan Rowley as chief executive.

Why????????????
