That after yet ANOTHER shambolic display by Ashton, what does his future with Wigan hold?????? What action does Noble take with him now?

What, with him repeatedly slipping, and throwing his teddies out of the cot with the referee, the Wigan physio's/trainers over his stoods, and a Hull KR player, it has been a VERY bad night for young Chris Ashton.

Would you:

1 - Fine him

2 - Drop him

3 - Sell him

4 - Just give him a good one to one rollicking in a private office.

Don't forget that he has reportedly lost his cool with the trainers over the stoods in his boots. I didn't know that this kid had a temperament problem, did you?

or 4. Sell Him?

I think part of the problem is that we have built him up so much and he may not be mature enough to cope with all the adulation from last season (the new Rads etc).
I would not be surprised if kick and clap is a done deal for next season.

If he carries on in this vein of form, having tantrums an physio's because of the stoods in his boots, and not erforming then he will be out of the door at the end of the MONTH, never mind the season.

I'd tell him that Mr Toman wouldn't let ME turn out for St Cuthberts Under 11's in a pair of pumps so neither should he. He's a professional sportsman who can afford appropriate footwear. & if it's good enough for Charlie Toman, it's good enough for me!!!

I'd tell him that the way he's playing at the moment, he's not fit to lace Colin Whitfield's boots, let alone the likes of Rads, Hampson, Fairbairn or any of the great full backs who've graced the club over the years.

I'd tell him to stop acting like Tommy Rock with the bouncers round town pulling the old "Do you know who I am" trick.

I'd tell him he's looking a little chunky & it's unlikely to be written off as puppy fat these days.

Then I'd tell him he's got the potential ( nothing more just yet ) to join the list mentioned above. If he worked on his defence.

I'd finish by telling him it's up to himself to get his head down & stop believing the hype.

After he's left, I'd ring his Dad & ask him if he'd ban him from using the car again for a while

Mind you I think that it has been mnetioned somewhere that he can be a cocky arrogant little s*d.

I'd run him till he was sweated like a ginger scaffolder in August!!!!!

& yes. I have it on v good authority that he's following in the illustrious footsteps of Mr Edwards in the old "Do you know who I am" routine.....

Ps - I don't necessarily think he's overweight. Merely trying to inject a touch of humour during these dark times.

I know you say that you don't think that he is overwight, but from his performances so far this year, that question HAS to be raised.

I did not know that Ashton had a temperament problem.

I don't think it's a "problem" as such, especially compared to some of the more, ahem, "illustrious" characters we've shipped out in the past.

More a case of youthful exuberance coupled with a small amount of arrogance & a lot of believing the hype from last season. However, that's not to say that if it doesn't get addressed quickly, it wont turn into one.........especially if the Wigan drinking club carries on as it has for the past few years.

I have always thought that when we signed withers that he should be full back. yes ashton had a good year last year but withers has been doing for years in super league. I say give ashton a run out of the team. ahton can only do one thing by watching withers week in week out, day in day out; LEARN SOMETHING.
