What sort of reception do you think Ashton will get from the Wigan faithful on Firday??

We need to give the team the same backing they got against the Quins.

Cheer him I say. We will cheer the rest of the team so cheer him as well. Just because he is going to RU (and only aat the end of the year by the way) doesn't mean that we should start booing him or chanting songs at him.

Nobbys girl i have consistently defended Ashtons decision on here the post was a joke.

If it is official confirmed that Ashton is leaving for rugby union then I will probably boo him. I made my feelings about this quite clear in another thread, Ashton has turned his back on the club that gave him his chance in Rugby and showed a lot of faith in him to give the number 1 shirt. I backed the decision of giving Ashton the number 1 shirt because I believed that he would be the next great Wigan full back, to turn his back just for some more money is a bit disrespectful to all the players who played in that number 1 shirt for Wigan.

Also if Ashton goes to rugby union then I think many other good young RL players will follow, until someone says "NO" RL will start losing all the best players to RU.
