Keeping tabs on Trent

Post by firedragon »

Hi all
I'm a St George fan from Oz and registered here to keep tabs on Trent Barrett. I personally felt the captaincy weighed a lil heavily on his shoulders at St George and played better when didn't feel he had to do it all himself (eg State of Origin). He's definitely a team player and I think he will excel for Wigan.
When does the season start there? Is it the 21st Jan?

Hello Antipodean.

Wigan have 3 pre-season friendlies prior to the Super League start, dates and teams on the official club site www.wiganwarriors.com and Trent should be playing at least 2 of them to conduct a partnership with our other new signing Lulu.

I think there is mixed pressure on Trent, Wigan fans want a class player (Trent) but team-wise there wont be as much pressure on him, he isnt captain, isnt our kicker and there are several big names in the club that we will criticise each week (Vaealiki for example).

He should settle in fine, from what we've heard from him.

thx guys
Trent hits like a forward in defence , has a bullet-like pass, and kicks well to the in-goal for his wingers and outside backs. Seldom has a bad game ...when he does its usually from trying too hard.
Look forward to following Wigan's progress this year!
