Joe lydon longest drop goal

I was reading the guiness world book of records 2007 and joe got the world record for the longest drop goal from 56m (62) yards :exc:
There expanding knowsley road from 3 car park spaces to 4

Yeah, Maine Road against Warrington in about 1986. We were struggling against a good Wire side, then Joe lifted us all with a kick from his own half. A bit of magic down the right flank from Hanley, and the game was won. Happy days

And it did not creep over either. It sailed over and had another 6-10 yards in it at least.

And I was there to see it. As mentioned Wire were proving tough to crack in a close game but that was the game breaker.

i was there and can remember the warrington fans started to rip out the old wooden seats and throw them into the wigan fans after lydon drop goal went over.seem to rember he did it again on the north west news the week after to prove it was no fluke.good away kit as well it was like the canterbury bull dogs kit .

I always will remember joe lydon's last gasp drop-goal against Halifax in the snow, early 90s.

CHRIST it was cold that day!!! in the middle of a blizzard wrapped up, I was only a nipper then but I remember it cos of lydons winning DG

Just another boring cup final win against a bunch of placcy scousers.... :D
