Re: Dressing Room
To be honest i just dont care.
If they are going to have the nerve to s step out in our shirt then they need to prove to us that they want to.
I am a big fan of Gaz Hocks but if he cant shut his mouth when penalised rightly or wrongly then drop him.
If Nobby keeps interchanging our entire front row at one time it then the subs need to step up and be solid in defense.
If Ashton isnt bothered then drop him, he wont be the rising star anymore just another second year failure, then who will want him.
If LU LU cant work on scraps then play deeper like Barrett did he just gets clattered every time its like Dennis all over again.
Whithers is no stand off, i dont think he is a bad signing for gods sake try Higham there and interchange the PTB with shane.
If all else fails drop the lot of them and put in the U21's make the team stand at the side and watch some lads playing for there club not there pay check.

damien. i wouldnt go as far to say lueluia gets ran over. he made a few good hits last night and his kicking was pretty good, just the chase needs work. withers was stand in last night to replace barrett for 1 match, thats all. he ahs played standoff for bulls in the past when harris has moved to centre at some points in games.

Re: Dressing Room
There have always been factions within the Wigan camp & indeed, the "problem" you allude to has been part of the Wigan culture since back in the early 90's when a certain Mr Versatility & a certain ballroom star in waiting introduced a few of their team mates to the joys of the dance music scene. The dancefloors of Cream, the Hacienda etc etc were graced many a weekend
Rewind a few years earlier & alcohol was the "problem" of choice, A certain Sky pundits hooker father was held as being responsible for introduing my namesake to the joys of ale in Tiffany's & the King of Clubs.
However, the main difference with the team of the 90's was that back then, people turned a blind eye because they were WINNERS!! They were safe in the knowledge they'd not be tested as they were GB internationals & any indiscretions would be covered over by the relevant authorities. More importantly, their weekend activities NEVER affected their performnces & the success just rolled on.
Fast forward a few years & how things have changed!!! Thde habits of the players have stayed constant. They're working class lads with a bit of coin in their pocket & a small town where they're indulged & revered. They spend it on whichever method of "refuelling" is in fashion at the time. It's the lack of success on the field that means these habits are scrutinised like never before!!!
Were this team anything like as successful as their predecessors, this "problem" would get nowhere near as much speculation as it currently enjoys....

Re: Dressing Room
Bit harsh to say he is not bothered. If he wasn't bothered, he'd keep crying off wouldn't he. Maybe he's had something going on/affecting him OUTSIDE of rugby, have you ever thought of that?
You never know, putting in good performances may have been the LAST thing on his mind the last couple of weeks.

You have no idea about that at all. You are simply making it up. It is just gossip.turf posted:
The other "problem", maybe the rumblings of a roomer that Ashton goes round Wigan to bouncers giving it the big "do you know who I am" trick.

Two points to make psycho i agree he doesnt get run over in defense its in attack he gets clattered. He takes the ball so close to the line constantly and gives himself no time to select his options before he is tackled or harried into poor options.- psycho - posted:

Trent is the shinning light in our squad as we would expect him to be but to believe he will miss 1 game this season is unrealistic. Whithers is a great utility centre/FB but half back no.When he played SO it was with Harris moving into the centres to change the line of attack and still behind a domminant forward back.
Green Vigo i saw Mr Offiah and CO. in the Hacienda on many occasions and all took the time to talk to me,i can assure you that not once did i think these guys were taking the alphabet pills you are suggesting.

Re: Dressing Room
Actually Dave, he got that information from myself on a post discussing Ashton last night.
Much as I'd like it to be made up, it's not. However, I genuinely think it's nothing more than youthful exuberance on his part &, hopefully, he'll grow out of it. I know several of his predecessors certainly did.
Before you ask ( because I just know you will ) I get my information direct from the source, having worked in the Wigan nightclub business for over 20 years now.....
