Early Days

Post by OAMJSONA »

Well here it is .

It is early days , yes we all know that but what do we think of our appauling start to the season.I for one fully expect us to to start winning soon ( I BLOODY WELL HOPE SO}

the players out there need to remember the 3Ps
what are they you may ask:

1. Pride
2. Passion
3. Performance

come on boys read and learn.lets get down to it and show the world what we can do with a very average team
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White

I remember towards the end of last season a few people on here including myself mentioned that they'd be happy with an improvement under Noble and it takes time for a team to 'gel'... and that 2008 would be 'the' season to actually start winning trophies on a par with St Helens and Bramley... but...

I think a few people have short memories or have altered their patience somewhat and want results NOW. I have not, I understand at my young age of 22, my own opinion that the team needs a full season's worth of Noble and the new backroom staff and players to gel properly... yes it is frustrating now losing 3/4 but we're not bottom and we have some of the best players in the world, along with a coach who gives no Bull. (apparently)

I stayed behind clapping off O'Loughlin as he did to very few South Standers left... scarf in hands above head. I think 3 of the 3 P's you suggested apply to fans aswell...

1) Pride
2) Passion

#3 is debatable but could be changed to Patience.

I did say it was frustrating and yes, we should have beat KR, but my view was on the long run, not the opening 4 games. I'm as disapointed as anyone but my personal take is that if we improve each week i'll be happy... although it hasnt happened yet... im being patient for that, hopefully starting against Quins.

Maybe my terminology was wong, I should have said 'international standard' or something along those lines.

We have Barrett yes, debatable with injuries but we know how good a player he is. We have GB caps of Hock, Lockers and Fielden... all 3 of which people tend to like or dislike, my opinion is that if they're good enough to be considered for GB, then they 'should' be better than 90% of all other players in their positions... perfomances however may prove different.

We have small capped players in Vaealiki (no comments haha) Lueluai, Feka, Bailey... (not Hansen for that Knobsley road game last year) in my opinion if they played at international standard then they should on paper be above most other people.

Obviously Cook and Lockers have different qualities... I dont know Noble's decisions why Cooke was left out... who knows. Im saying that he's good enough for a GB call-up so that deductively puts him above many other #13's...

also there were injuries to key regular GB players but the wigan 3 still got called up so they are of 'international standard' technically. IMO Hock proved his worth and O'Loughlin played ok down under... not the best #13, not the worst.

Loughlins tackling technique leaves a lot to be desired, his kicking game is poor at best. his leader ship qualities are non existant

why oh why then is he our captain
