O'Loughlin was kicking because Barrett was not there. Tackling wise you will notice he has moderated his tackling technique. It is indeed less effective in terms of stopping players stone dead BUT it no longer warrants penalties. Rightly or wrongly (wrongly IMO) the interpretation of what constitutes a penalty when tackling has changed. Gareth Hock is going have to alter his tackling technique too. As far as Lockers the player, he has been our player of the season so far and was the best we had on Friday.

I don't have a short then again I don't need a long one to remember how well the team played in the latter half of last season. So therefore I expected this season to carry on with a similar standard of RL.

I can give you several reasons why it has not but equally I can also point to several players who are still here from last season who are playing worse now than then. That isn't good enough.

As to wanting results now the fact is we need results now. There is a big difference.

Whatever we think Dave O is right, WE NEED results. We are already playing catch up.

I agree O'loughlin was the best player on Friday night.Im not one of his biggest fans but he plays with pride and passion. He has been consistant so far this season, but i dont think he should be our captain.I booed the team at half time as i think that was all they deserved, ill give them the applaudits when they deserve it & ill tell them when they are cr*p.It is early days yet but i am worried.

Are you lot watching the same game as all of the fans i talk to?O'Loughlin was ordinary at best he falls off a lot of one on ones has no real speed and no footwork and for his kicking game well lets not go there. Our best players by a country mile were Feka and Calderwood.

Feka, while he was on the pitch, yes, but I don't see how a player that was on for less than half the game can qualify.
Calderwood had a nightmare, especially in defence, but also in attack where he bombed two good chances. He was constantly caught out of position, not only for the two tries conceded on his wing but also against the kicks to his wing.

didnt O'loughlin make breaks last week against the bulls & he also made at least 2 breaks against KR.I,m not a big fan of O,loughlin but i will give him credit he has been one of our better players so far this season. As for Feka i am a Fan of his but playing 27 mins of a game is not good enough.Calderwood i feel sorry for him at leeds he had a centre who created gaps fpr him to exploit his pace, but at wigan he's not had that yet.His defence & takings off a high ball has improved since he came to Wigan,he did have a half decent game on Friday but was not the MOM.Yes i am watching the same game but with an open mind about all the players not just the one's i personaly rate higher than others.
