He played for Swinton Lions when he was 17/18 and I think our academy picked him up from there.

Which must be why he was one of the few young players to survive the big clearout in the last couple of seasons to occupy a regular first team position and get an international call-up whilst others like Hargreaves and Beswick have been farmed out elsewhere... He's not really having any worse a season than Hock, who has a lot more experience and will be getting paid a lot more. That's not to say I don't think Joel Tomkins shouldn't be given a chance, I think Harrison needs a couple of games in the U21's to get his form back again...

I think he's had a solid season so far apart from a couple of games when his handling has let him down. He is bigger and stronger than last year, and is a tackling machine; he's also had an assist in one or two tries, including Pat Richard's first on Friday.

To me, the lad has the potential to be the next generation Mick Cassidy-type player - a real hard worker, a good heart and very solid tackling. His hands let him down sometimes, too, which I suppose only strengthens the comparision.

is hands should be better now we have the warmer weather have your hands not been cold over the last couple of months

. I think hanson as done fine when he has been on think he needs a little more game time to be honest

I think Hansen has done OK this season and he offers a solid alternative to Hock when Hock loses the plot (but credit to Hock for improving on that score in recent games).

I think Hansen's long term future at the club may be in doubt due to him choosing to play for NZ if the RFL/SL follow through with their ideas on limiting Kolpak players.

It could well be the club will have to decide if Hansen is worth a valuable overseas player slot whereas had he opted for England (as he did when younger) I am sure he would not count on any revised sort of quota.

We are yet to see how the RFL plans to decide on what classes an overseas players, Hansen is not a Kolpack player but is non-qouta because of his British Passport (unless Kolpack covers British passports as well).

Hansens best asset was always his defence and isn't going to be the attacking threat that Gareth Hock can be but he still does his part in attack, sometimes I think the dropped passes are due to him trying too hard, focusing on trying to burst though the defence but you can't blame him because if he got pushed back he would get the same reaction as he did when he dropped the ball.

Hansens contribution in match has been underrated in the past, he does alot of tackling which takes some of the pressure off O'Loughlin. Hansen reminds me of a Mick Cassidy type of player, hard working but nothing fancy, often going unnoticed in a match but his contrabution is an important one.
