And don't forget it was AK's fault that we kept watching Stains running around with the ball instead of tackling them.
It was AK's fault that everytime we made a break there were sod all players in support.
It was AK's fault tht evertime Saints made a break they had players either side.

Sorry, but we were outplayed in every department tonight
I quite agree with this but it is also true Klien was poor. I have not watched the replay but on the big screen at the ground they showed the Saints player making no attempt at playing the ball what-so-ever just before their try early in the second half.

I am assuming the Sky commentators spotted the blatant infringement while Klien did not.

Now the refs are full time they should rightly be hauled over the coals for missing stuff like this. And it wasn't the only significant thing he missed today.

Don't get all pious about the ref just because we were poor. He was poor also in my opinion. Very poor.

That particular incident (the saints player not making an attempt to play the ball that lead to one of their tries) is SHOCKING from Klein and his two touchies watching on the sidelines.

For me, when the referee fails to spot something obvious, he gets too much grief, because I think we forget too much about the two men with flags ion their hands.

The men with flags can only wave them for certain infringements in the field of play. I am sure Rob can tell us what they can do that for but I doubt an incorrect PTB is one of them.

At the end of the day, Klein wasn't missing tackles, conceding penalties, knocking on, etc.

He didn't have a bad game, apart from a couple of bad calls against us, but he is human after all.

Was that the biggest game that Klein has ever had control of over in this country?
The high shot on our player that led to one of their tries then most of the Saints high shots went unpunished. He pulled us for anything above the waist.

10 mins for Withers then we broke ball was stolen penalty no 10 mins...seems a bit 1 sided.

Always the same Saints can walk on water as far as officials are concerned.

yes klien was poor but , we failed to take our chances, saints did, imo withers was far to slow ,not saying he was to blame just my opinion ,they wanted it more than us :conf:

I will agree that Klein's performance yesterday was an absolute shocker, but what I won't do is use it as an excuse for our poor performance.

Unfortunately, as hard as it is to take we were outplayed by Saints in every department and until we lift our performances to match theirs we will continue to do so.

Massive problem seems to be the lack of numbers for the prop department, once you're being battered there it has a major factor in the outcome of the match.

Watched the 1st half replay on Sky and they said that the reason it was alright when Withers was pushed back is becuase the new rule says that the defending player adding weight has to stop the forward momentum. Have to say thats not how I've seen the law applied in other games or even when we got penalised for trying to do the same thing to Wellans.

There 1st try absolute nailed on forward pass and Klown was right in line with it.

Saints deserved the win but the officals were a joke!

Usual Ashley Klown performance. He probbaly didn't need the TJ's help on the forward pass it was that clear, not that he'd expect any help from them. Wellens knock on to receive the penalty was diabolical. That's 10 points of the difference.

However, I'm not ignoring things like taking the 2 points just before HT and the fact that we made things difficult for ourselves by picking Withers whose lack of pace was exposed a few times.
