Tough question! There were a lot of unsung hero's out there witj players like Calders and DV doing crucial stuff in defence but if I had to pick one player I'd go for Lulu again. I also picked him as MoM v Saints and that was a much easier choice!
Not a great game i think we looked harder done by because leeds got most of the 50 50 decisions in their favour. I probably agree with the sin binning and Sean O was lucky to get away with a few high tackles. On the flip side Ashton wasnt tackled, and i believe Withers did a similar thing later on and he played on which was the correct decision. And Kyle Lelu definately droppped the ball, i think they were the 2 major errors he made tonight both easily in the Leeds 20 so i think given correctly we would have had the game stiched up earlier.
Overall it think both teams discipline wasnt great, if the decisions going against us would have cost us the game then i think we would have had much cause to complain. In the end we won a game we deserved to win, just hope we get the rub of the green next game :sly:

I've emailed stuart cummings via the sky sports site this morning asking why the bailey fielden incident was put on report when the touch judge has a clear view of it and could be heard on the tv reporting what had happened. I always thought an incident was put on report when the officail didnt have a clear view of it. In my opinion both ref and touch judge wimped out of a decision.
one of my problems is with rob burrows how the hell do you tackle him without it being called a high tackle when he runs at the tall players he ducks down,i thought his try was because fielden had to hesitate on how he was going to tackle him because of the earlier incident where fielden tackled him and was penalised for a high shot and also being sent to the sin bin didn't want to push the wrath of the referee any further, what i'm trying to say is maybe RFL should look at this techinique to see if it is deem as a high tackle because if the attacker ducks his head below chest level and the defender is tackling at chest level isn't it the attacker's fault not the defender.

I'd be interested to see the reply as I can't see how the ref missed it and with the touch judge reporting it he ought to have walked IMO.
If a touch judge sees foul play the should make a recommendation to the ref e.g. just a penalty or say it was a sending off offence. The ref should rely on the judgement of his touch judge but it appears to me they use the on-report system to pass the buck.
It would be interesting to know if that is what they are instructed to do if they (the ref) is unsighted when the the touch judge has a clear view.
Perhaps Rob can tell us if refs are allowed to send players off based on what a touch judge tells them.
An absolutely cracking question about tackling Burrow heydude? After all, Burrow is only about 4 foot something, if that.
Also may get some stick off here by saying this but I am just watching the game again now on Sky Sports 1, and I have changed my mind about the referee.
He WAS a disgrace to the game of RL. The way I put it is this:
Two BIG calls against Wigan:
Fielden holding down and sin binned - never.
Ashton not playing the ball - he wasn't tackled.
Any thoughts??
PS: Some people who I have been talking to today say that Ashton cost us twelve points.
Why's that? He didn't kick the goals for Leeds as well did he?

silverwood didn't have the balls to send off bailey for the high shot on fielden,if he or the TJ have seen it he should have gone.[quote]
said the exact same thing only i was shouting it more than saying it.
what baffled me was, the dissallowed toopi try.
now toopi goes over the line, loses the ball and silverwood calls knock on. then a second later goes to the screen!!! what a joke of a ref i think he could have lost us that game tonight. yes at time we are our own worst enemy but to sin bin fielden when he was clearly indicating he was trying to get his arm free was outrageous.

Don't they mean two tries (8 points)?
Turf, I thought Silverwood was totally for Leeds last night, call me biased, I dont care, the evidence was there for all to see.

Dave
this is what i sent. it will interesting to see if i get a reply.
Stuart,
I have a question following the Leeds v Wigan Game. Midway thru the first half Ryan bailey came over the top of a tackle with a swinging arm on Stuart Fielden. The touch judge immediately came onto the pitch to report the incident, he could be heard on the television reporting the incident to the referee, the penalty went to Wigan and the incident went on report. I was under the impression that incidents went on report when the officials didn’t see the incident but in this situation the touch judge DID see it and reported it to the referee, Why was action not taken at the time instead of passing the decision on? Did the ref wimp out of making a decision?
Just watched again now, when Silverwood went to the screen for Burrow's try, Ashton turned round and gave him a right mouthful, and was constantly nattering to him throughout that decision.
I am very surprised that Silverwood, didn't pull Ashton out, talk to him and send him to the sin bin.
The way Silverwood performed last night, I wouldn't have put it past him.
