I think your talking rubbish.Ok lockers may not be the most verbal captain but he does lead by example with his tackling and also taking the ball up.One bad game (which most of the team had as well) doesnt make him a bad player.By critising(spelling) locers captanciey you are also critising Nobby's coaching as he has kept Lockers as captain. If you watch lockers play with an open mind you will see how much work he gets through, but he also does make misstakes like everyone does only he get blasted for them more than anyother Wigan player.amylou posted:

Re: Loughlin OUT
yes lockers did make 2 mistakes in crucial positions at critical times of the game but to sat he is c--p is a bit strong if the rest of the team were fireing i am sure he would be a world beater.

Re: Loughlin OUT
When he plays well no one says anything when he doesn't play to well people are on him like a rash. Personnaly i feel that people are looking for a scape goat to blame the lack of trophies on, people don't want to call nobby but there willing to call the captain who nobby did choose, if you want to have a go at someone surely it's the coach who should be taking the stick. Not the player who was chosen by the coach to represent the side as far as captaincy is concered. Why are people moaning though? we're 4th in the league. We beat both Wakefield and Salford by a massive margain and we're improving week in week out, ok the saints game was a slip up but good sides learn from there slip ups and that's what we've been doing, after the defeat to saints on good friday we beat Leeds away. After the defeat to Huddersfield we beat Wakefield and Salford by very wide margains wich if you ask other clubs is not an easy thing to do[/quote]ive just read nearly all posts on this topic, how on earth can people rate oloughlin, he doesnt do anythin, he never talks to the players durin the game,,, sorry rephrase this he does do a lot, a lot of errors per game, lots of missed tackles, lots of stupid offloads, lots of laughin and smirkin from what ive seen when he makes mistakes, for all those people who rate oloughlin i think u should all get together and goto specsavers they got 2 for 1 offer on there, wish we had oloughlins so then we could have at least one player then, BARRETT fo captainj

That has been said a million times and it isn't good enough. First of all he isn't consistently good enough for his "example" to be the one everyone should follow. The effort is there I'll grant you that but it isn't enough.gillysmyhero posted:

Secondly there is a better example to follow - Barrett who is a much better player and also far more experienced.
He isn't a bad player but neither does he warrant the unstinting support he seems to get from some.with his tackling and also taking the ball up.One bad game (which most of the team had as well) doesnt make him a bad player.
And what is wrong with criticising Noble? Or is he untouchable as well?By critising(spelling) locers captanciey you are also critising Nobby's coaching as he has kept Lockers as captain.
No he doesn't. He does tend to make more mistakes than others and the Opta penalty count stats back this up for example. So why is it surprising one of our worst offenders foe giving penalties away gets criticised for it?If you watch lockers play with an open mind you will see how much work he gets through, but he also does make misstakes like everyone does only he get blasted for them more than anyother Wigan player.
The penalties we give away are costing us dear and Lockers along with Hock and Fletcher are the three worst in the side I think.

I think you will find both have been discussed before on the forum.chrisJJ posted:
again i notice that no one is talking about all the errors that Fletcher made, how much of a 'liabilty' Hock is with his temper.

Nobby did not appoint Lockers captain. Millward did.
While it is up to Nobby to coach the side to play better RL he can't do it for them. At the end of the day the players have got to cut the mistakes out and one of those who needs to improve in this respect it Lockers.
Nobby inherited Lockers as captain as he was appointed captain by Millward. It is a pretty big decision to take the captaincy away from some one. Personally I think Nobby is wrong not to have done so from the start of this season. Not the player who was chosen by the coach to represent the side as far as captaincy is concered.
