London final score

Post by ian.birchall »

Narrow win for the warriors at 26-22 but another desperate afternoon watching the score tick up on the web. Warringtons performance against Bradford suggests that it will not be easy next Friday but at least we are above Stains again :)

Had me worried did that match.
Why werent you listening to it on Gmr Ian? I was watching teletext closely for Hull and Bradford scores, am desperate for us to play Hull at KC in the playoffs so I don't have to spend too much on travel :D

Well done to the lads, we all know London away is a difficult match to win and they proved that again today.

MrsLam, Because you cannot get GMR in Harrogate, there my secret is out, I'm a posh Wigan supporter! Don't worry though, I was born in Wigan so still qualified through my mothers milk. If you had been using Larry Laptop on website www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague/scores/live you could watch all 3 matches continuosly update the score. By the way do you know where the word posh comes from?, bet GeoffN does because he must remember the days of Empire as well. :)

Narrow win, arguably one we didn't really deserved, London lost that game rather than us winning it. We played pretty much similar to how we played five week ago (Moran tore us apart), however, this time they were slightly over confident and they made a few more mistakes. Fortunately Farrell/Robinson/Connolly/Wild were there to make them pay.

We were back to playing one man rugby. Smith and Farrell were making the metres and looking to offload but no-one was in support. We also continued our theme of letting the opposition run straight past us without tackling them. Radlinski was to blame for at least one try, Newton another.

Lam didn't do anything really and there were a few players out there that looked a bit creaky and patched up (maybe why Lam was quiet). Yet again Robinson played well when he got the chance, unfortunately it was only because Newton picked up an injury that he got on the field.

It was a good weekend though, only cost £22 each for a triple room and £15 petrol, did anyone else stay in St. Giles hotel in Feltham? Best part of the weekend was getting into the game for free. There was a lad outside with a wad of tickets and gave us a few to get in. Only thing was we were in the London end directly opposite the Wigan fans but they were really friendly. Wigan support was fairly disappointing compared to last months game, unfortunately I think we have too many fickle fans that won't bother because they expected us to get beat.

Last month it was holiday season there's bound to be a lot more support then.
And it's not so much fickle fans, you do realise some people haven't got the time or the money to go to every away match? Personally didn't go because when I rang grayway they weren't doing any coaches and they said the only other company they knew were, were already fully booked.

I'm sure we went past a Grayway coach on the way home so they may have misinformed you.

Unfortunately we do have some very fickle fans, possibly the worst in the league. Probably the worst was when we played Bradford in the CC semi-final last season, that was very disappointing.

Well I rang up and asked them and she put me on hold and then said that they weren't doing any coaches, maybe she meant they weren't doing anymore or maybe she meant they weren't doing any just for the Sunday trip either way that's what I was told.

Fair enough, I wasn't having a go. I don't think anyone on this board is one of the fickle lot but I do think that some fans will have thought we'd get beat and just stayed at home.

Don't care what people say about us needing them because they bring in the money, we need the real support coming from loyal fans.
