o" no not woods!

well it looks like nathan woods is going to be our new signing!we have finaly hit the bottom and can sink no lower(god i hope not) the only explanation is he must be cheap!he is 86 years old had one good game last season and he is good enough quality for wigan! i think not! what is maurice doing we get rid of the old players and sign even older ones.next season we will see bernard dwire sonny nickle and ian lucas all back for us.well it will certainly garantee us a cup. the northern ford championship!

Maurice must be mad to even think of Wood. If we've got room for him under the cap, why did we get rid of Robinson?

It's really sad that he can't think of anyone better than nat wood, and also he is another OAP and not a young player which we need more of. What about Ben Jeffries if he can do what hes done at Wakefield then i would welcome him to the JJB.

This is indeed an extraordinary rumour which I hope isn't true and as you say makes the selling of Luke very mysterious. However, I am prepared to give Maurice some degree of latitude and am sure that if Wood is to appear at the JJB it can only be as a stopgap, a bridging signing between Lam and an as yet unnamed world class no.7 for the season after. Surely? Anyone know of any great half backs whose contract runs out for 2006? PS Don't believe it until you see it anyway, how many times have we been about to sign someone in the last five months only for it to turn out to be complete rubbish

Thier is'nt any world class half backs that are significantly better than luke, but it would make sense of giving Hock only a one year contract if thier was! Nat woods' wages ( if he comes) and Hocks wages would pay for this world class half back. It's the kind of stupid thing Maurice would do.

The person you're alluding to isn't available until 2007, he signed for an additional 2 years this summer. It does make a bit of sense I suppose, getting rid of some big salaries so we've got space to accommodate him when the time comes (or maybe I should write 'Him', since godlike is how some people view the guy!) but it's a bit early for that surely?! Unless, Chairman Mo thinks he can get his man a year early by offering enough money. In which case, given the time difference for making phone calls etc I think Maurice is in for some late Knights, erm, nights

Don't get JohnM started! It'd be his dream for joey to be here and for john monie to come back. You do realise he's nearly 30 though, all this talk of OAPS :D

Your gonna have Wood
Your gonna have Wood
Were not!
Were not!

(In the style of Eddie Floyd/Ami Stuart)

He's like thunder,
Lightening,
The way he knocks on is frightening,
You'd better knock,knock,knock...On Wood baby....
