The BBC does it again.

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

The BBC does it again.

Post by DaveO »

I didn't want to post this in the Kris Rads thread as that should be a positive thread but the BBC lead story as I type this is the birthday honours list and this is a direct quote

"Others to be honoured from the world of sport by becoming MBEs are former England footballer Teddy Sheringham and Dee Caffari, the first woman to sail single-handedly non-stop around the world against the prevailing winds and currents."

Now that is a really good achievement by Dee Caffari but who the hell has heard of her before?

Rads has been in the sport with the club since he was 17 and the BBC front page twitters on about someone far less well know to the general populace. Would it really hurt the BBC to give the sport some limelight rather than mention a minority sport?

To be fair to them, they can't mention everyone (I've never heard of Dean Campari before though, but will the wider world have heard of Kris?) and they did acknowledge Saints as BBC Team of the Year in 2006.
