The firing squad

Post by highland convert »

Two weeks ago I struggled to get match info. Little was said about a comprehensive victory. This week we get gubbed and about five six threads and a hundred posts hit the board immediately everyone got home, Most threads are who should face the firing squad next. If the players are following the board are we undoing nobby's player build up by. Should DV or Millard put their bodies on the line for the ungreatful masses. If they are gladiators are we giving them the thumbs down before the lions are released. Think about it, HC

Got to agree with you HC, it's always the same when we lose and fans are upset and disappointed but there really is no need for the abuse and personal comments that are made against some of our players - the posters sure as hell would never say it to the player's face I'm certain of that. Strange how all the errors and shortcomings are so quickly forgotten or never mentioned at all when we win. We all want Wigan to win every match but life's not like that and when we get walloped we have to take it on the chin and move on. By all means have a moan and groan folks but the derogatory remarks made about some players are well out of order. If those same players read these message boards they must wonder why they ever bother.

I also agree, sure as hell, the fans are upset that the players have had a week in the sun, getting a tan, then they come back and get thumped by Wakefield but there is no need whatsoever for personal insults towards players.

We need to stick with them through thick and thin. That's what the Rhino's fans are doing with their club, and look at the Hull FC fans, they have stuck with their team through thick and thin as well.

So, with all that said, lets get behind the boys now and prepare for next week's crunch game, and lets make it an atmosphere that our boys will enjoy playing in and thrive on.

Sorry i disagree, Millard is rubbish and to old! he is too slow and no amount of praise is going to change that. This is their job! their job is to be fit and play well with desire and at the moment they are picking and choosing when to o that. Im an I.T tech and i get a call queue of about maybe 100 calls a week. Now i dont do 70 calls one week then the next week decide i cant be arsed and only do 5, mainly because i would be sacked!. When they play good they get their praise, and its not just that they play bad they obviously not putting the effort in because we seen how good they can be!, every team has an off day but we having an off half of season and there are no excuses!
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

HC to some degree I can agree with your premise. However, even our coach has started to criticise the team/players. It beggars belief that they can be so good one week and then awful the next week. Moreover, they make the same mistakes time and time again. Saints being very good does not help either.

Dead right. losing is one thing, losing like we did yesterday is inexcusable. No passion, no heart, precious little effort, if I turned up to my job with that type of attitude I wouldn't last long.I paid good money to travel to Wakey yesterday and to listen to all this "let's get behind the boys" crap makes my blood boil.
It's about time these WELL PAID players got behind the fans that are paying their wages every week, and earned the respect of us all.

Absolute twaddle. This is one of those "get behind the team" posts Jinkin' Jimmy mentioned yesterday. To be honest given the performance I didn't think anyone would be daft enough to post one.

What do you expect after 74 minutes of utter garbage? No reaction?

Get real, should we just keep on clapping; well done chaps keep on trying! To lose to wakefield is bad enough but to lose 32-6 is a joke. I hope the players do read this and sort themselves out. Sounds like attitude and passion went missing yesterday, feel sorry for the fans who made the journey over to wakey.
