Did not go BUT

Nobby has got to stop threatening and actually do something. As it stands, the youngsters get a chance via injury BUT are given no loyalty when they play well. It cuts both ways.

Trouble is I don't think he will change anything. What happened when he threatened to do it last time, bugger all
My exact thought as soon as I read Turf's post. The players won't be worried by that comment from Noble because he never acts on what he says.

Last season you may recall when Richards found some form he kept Dallas out of the side toward the end of the season. I thought that was fair enough as it appeared he was picking on form.

Now I am starting to wonder if he just didn't like Dallas!

As mentioned elsewhere Millard walks right back into the team, Hock is a liability be he goes roght back in.

What Noble should have done is pick the same 17 that won v Les cats (injuries permitting). That would have been entirely justified and against one of the "lesser" team in Wakefield would have been relatively risk free you would have thought.

I really do not understand Nobby's reluctance to pick on form and his continued seemingly automatic selection of certain players over others who show better form.

McIllorum, O'Carroll and Goulding should all be in the 17. With Feka being less than !00% why was O'Carroll not on the bench anyway with a four prop rotation? He went into the match with only two fit props!

The secret of Saints succes is that they blended young academy lads into the team and they all have done well for themselves Noble is frightened to death of doing this .Goulding ,O' Carroll ,Mc Illurum are our stars for the future but he is relunctant to play them .

Yeah we will probably sell them young stars and buy sum old ozzie has beens as replacements. Snakes give them credit give their youngsters ago and hence their team is stable.

What you have to remember though is that at stains they are coming into a well drilled good team at the top of there form (that hurt writing that!!) so its easier than coming into an unpredictable team like ours

Why is the loyalty only shown to experienced players though? If a youngster comes in, plays well, they should keep their place.

That's the way I read this quote as well.

I know it's a different type of competition, but Noble's unimaginative selection policy was obvious when he was the GB coach. Look at the loyalty he showed to Fielden in Australia last year.
