Another example. Yes we all love seeing Feka bash em with his big runs BUT imagine what would happen if he powered forward and suddenly passed to another support player. If he did that once every match and we continued sending runners up alongside him he would be even harder to stop because as it stands we send him over the top and he fights v enemy on his own.

Those warm up routines have some excellent passing moves BUT they are simply show pieces as it stands. We never seem to play like that or use them. :conf:

Could be a good question for Nobby if you are going the riversiders meeting when he's there

Just imagine if there a support runner either side of Feka when he ran at the line!

You could have a winger either side - that way the opposing defenders would not all be able to rush in at him for fear of him offloading - and if he were to get the opportunity to run at one of their half backs with this V formation - he would cause utter havoc! Even it if were forwards he was running then; they would not be able to use 4 players to try and stop him

Exactly Matthew, you cannot leave support runners unmarked and that makes the ball carriers contest much more equal. 1 v 13 is impossible no matter who you are. I often think our players stand back and watch him. That is our job. They may as well be in the stands too. Think back to Offiah. I laugh when people compare other wingers to him. Offiah went searching for the ball. He scored umpteen tries by leaving his wing and running off forwards down the middle.

How we could do with a support runner like Offiah or Edwards!

At the very least; someone should be following Feka for a quick play of the ball - like you say; a lot of the players seem to stand back and enjoy the spectacle.

Many times a player would offload to Offiah who was accelerating like a bullet, once he had the ball and was in broken play - you knew he was going to score; many players didn't even bother chasing him back.

On one of my Micron videos, the commentator says "and Martin Offiah will definitely score" when he is crossing the half way line!

I think you make a brillant point cp and if we did have a support player either side of feka then the defence would eithier 1)all move in for the tackle on feka then he could offload or 2)feka would get a 1 on 1 which I would excepect to see him shrug off 9/10

Think about Fielden. As it stands when it is 1 v 13 he is taking a hammering. If he had a few decoy runners / support players then he would look far better. I would actually like to see Mickey Higham dart sideways and pull defenders onto him before offloading to a runner, much more. KC is nowhere near the player he once was BUT he still hold defenders up by pulling them towards him before passing.

Your right Tew about Saints exposing him in defence. What I cannot figure though is on defence his agility / sideways movement looks poor and then later he started moving superbly side to side past defenders. Very odd. :conf:

Defensively I thought we improved when we had second rowers playing prop for that very reason TEW. I did think we may be better not starting with Feka and bringing him on after we have got a foothold in the game v Saints.

Why not even use feka as a dummy runner for a few consecutive plays and let trent attempt to hit somebody in the gap who had there eyes on feka ?

Maybe give it trent and do a piss off pass having feka run through attracting players around ?
