9th. 2 points off the play-offs, just 3 off the team who replace us in 4th, but also 5 points off the bottom.becky b posted:

Re: Salary Cap Hearing
Let's see what cliff makes of that...Matthew mailed to sky:
Wigan Warriors docked 4 points.
I am sure that you will get hundred of mails about this subject so I will be brief.
It appears that Wigan have been punished by the RFL for exploiting a loop hole in their salary cap legislation, rather than actually breaking the law. The RFL claimed that Wigan’s actions were not in the “spirit of the capâ€; surely that is immaterial; they either broke the rules or they didn’t. Wigan have a relatively small squad this season; obviously to make provision for the extra money that they must accommodate in this years cap.
On boots and all a couple of weeks ago; the point was raised by a journalist that many clubs pay Aussie players to “fly over Singapore†and that it was the worst kept secret in the modern game. I have also heard these rumours (as I am sure that you have) many times. To my understanding; paying players offshore for working in this country contravenes tax law and is therefore illegal. By not having to pay tax on players wages, any clubs who choose this route can spend far more on players than clubs using the traditional method – is this “in the spirit of the cap So far the RFL have yet publicly announce any kind of investigation into this practice? If they won’t, then perhaps the Inland Revenue should? Of course, if any clubs were found guilty there is a good possibility that paying many years of back tax could bankrupt them; what would the RFL’s reaction to the “spirit of the cap†be then?
Finally; many fans have said (and will say) that Wigan should have been (or should be) relegated Whilst it is no surprise to experience anti-Wigan sentiment; surely none of these fans really believe that Wigan would be refused a franchise? – even if they had been forced to jettison players and play in NL1? Despite their “breach†of the salary cap; Wigan are still one of the few SL clubs to be making profit – and let us not forget this was the original purpose of the cap.
Regards,
etc etc
(although on recent experience he will just go off on one on how we should have been more severely punished)

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

I think it is about time the RFL's salaries were looked into.
