This isn't what was being said at the time though. I remember when it was announced he was staying, and I don't remember anyone on here complaining.
I disagreed with Lam being kept at the time, especially as it meant the loss of Briscoe and Johnston.

What you've got to remember is like it or not we're just fans, I don't think any of us have any experience in the managing/directing/chairman side of a rugby league job and therefore we can only guess at what is going on at the JJB.
Quite right, but what we can do is compare how Wigan appears to be run with how other top clubs are run. Once upon a time Wigan were the greatest now we lagging behind Leeds and Bradford.

What we should be able to go on is what we are told. Maurice Lindsay has said we couldn't afford Luke under 20/20 rule, obvious lies. He has also told us that we are not going to make a scrum-half signing.

As members of this board we all know that rumours are flying around all the time and therefore we can't count anything thats being said about players wages being doubled as being true. Where's this information coming from and how do those people know?
I'm not normally one for believing rumours but I read it in Rugby League World which I thought held some credibility.

The ideas there, bringing in the youngsters, signing more experienced props, not sure about second rate we'll see when they get here, maybe they'll settle in purrfectly and we'll have a surprisingly good season next year.
That's exactly it, if we have a good season next year it will come as a suprise because no-one expects us to improve on last season. In the last two seasons we have got progressively worse and the outcome doesn't look right good. As GeoffN said for all the good he's done for Wigan in the past ten years we've won two trophies!

The good that Lindsay has done might well out-weigh the bad but no-one on this thread has given Lindsay any praise for anything he has done in the last few years. The truth is Lindsay is good with unlimited resources but with the salary cap restrictions etc. he can't hack it. Not to mention his dishonesty!

I am holding my judgement until we discover whether we sign a decent scrum half next season.

If not, I think the club could have been managed a lot better.

However, if a decent SH is signed (aka Long or better), and Farrell moves to prop, we have a potentially better side than last season.

Either way, you can't deny Maurice lied about the salary cap restrictions being the reason for Luke being released - Godwin's signing and the rumour of another proves that - and that can't be a good way to go about retaining the trust of the fans.

I would like to see the club run more along the lines of the coaching staff picking the players they would like to target and the board going after them. Rathter than how the current situtation seems now.

A chairman should be judged on results, the same as a coach. Maurice has been building for the future for the last ten years, and what have we won in that period?
One Grand Final and one Challenge Cup.
In 10 years.
That's not good enough for a club like Wigan.
Utter garbage...you wingin wiganer.
I've never read such rubbish.

So you obviously want to go back to the one team era of wigan wins everything again.

What wouldn't every team barring Saints and Bradford give to be in the position Wigan has been this decade to experiance a championship or challenge cup win.

Its been over 30 years since Warrington last won the challenge cup and there hasn't been a team more deserving of it.

It pains me to say that the best signing Wigan ever made was Maurice. He goes back along way with you, you know. If it wasn't for him you may even still be in the second division.

And I can't believe what I read about people slaging off Mo for the release of Robinson. Am I to believe that nobody in Wigan actually knows the real truth about this when its common knowledge in Warrington?
