am i seeing things?

just logged onto the site to have a look at the message board ans saw:
"There are 221 users browsing the message board: tony_a, Roy Lawrence, Mike, Taffy, Helen, Pie_Eater14 (plus 215 guests)"
is this right or is it just a glitch.

Its a search engine indexing the site. They have multiple agents that visit the site to get all the content.

how are they appearing as members if theyve never been before and just out of curiosity how many members has the site got

theyre not users, they are just anonymous sessions. The only registered (logged in) users are the one with their names displayed.

The site has 429 registered user at the moment. NOt all are active.

ive just logged in again and now and there are loads of messages with my username on them and i am also a moderator dunno wots happened but when i came on it sed there username is not recognised then when i looked all the names had changed wots happened

after posting urs(mikes) signature is on mine(shauns) postings wots happened.
