Barrett is class but is playing in an average team. IMO if Noble had been coach when Barrett was approached he would not have signed for Wigan. He is forced to play a kicking game because there is no movement around him and he is not given any options.
At Wigan we are to pre-occupied with Feka, at most he has only really influenced 2 games this season one reason is we do not play to his strenghts and secondly he does not spend long enough on the field. I admit he does look spectacular but there is rarely any end product.

Re: Best + Worst Three Wig...
most of our big plays come off big feka drives. that is a big boost when you watch one of your forwards carrying 4 of your opposition on his back. he can't do it on his own. we need another big forward who can be used as impact when feka goes off. im not having that feka and vagana are the only two around who can do this.emperor kel posted:

Hudds were penalised twice for moving up offside too early when trying to challenge him. Can't remember about the first one but the second one was converted.emperor kel posted:

I am not saying he cannot be effective if used properly and in a stronger squad he would be. I am saying that players of the year should be voted for on contribution and not because he is a crowd favourite. Please lets not close our eyes to his lack of on field time and try to excuse it by saying he is an impact player.
Incidentally I do think one of the greatest sites of all is to see him take the opposition at pace but I want to see it more often,
Re: Best + Worst Three Wig...
I agree he should spend more time on the field, but having said that, similar "impact props" in other teams spend roughly the same amount of time on the pitch. Fa'asavalu, Kylie Leuluai, Lauititi, Vagana, they're all realy only 20 minute players. The difference is; they play for teams with two quality first choice props. Although both Prescott & O'Carroll have potential, they're nowhere near the likes of Fozzard & Cayless, for example.emperor kel posted:

This isn't hindsight, either; we were all saying before the season started that we needed another prop like Logan or Craig Smith to start alongside Fielden.

I agree there are others but my point is that we still class Feka as one of our top three players and I doubt if any of the others are at their clubs.
His overall contribution does not warrant being in the top three
