Rugby League World Cup 2008

Post by WxmWarrior »

I have permission from the mrs to go to Oz next year for 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which means I can take in two games - either two pool games or a semi and the final dependant on dates / ticket availability etc...

...it's costing me a holiday in Cyprus for her and her mum but it's worth every penny!

...anyone on here planning on going?

I'm considering it but seeing that i went to trinations for a month last year, think parents will go mental if i spend all my saving on a big rugby trip rather than a house deposit (again!!!).

Can highly recommend it but would be wanting to go for longer than 10 days, takes that long to get over the jet lag.

Managed to get on sky with mates big wigan GB flag, got a big cheer from the south stand bar for that, or so my mate told me :)

There are three of us definitely going from Wrexham but possibly up to 7..... and a flag is definitely the way to go... I aint going all that way not to get on the telly!!!

What was the atmosphere like over there for the tri-nations?

the atmosphere was good, the game we actually managed to win in sydney was excellent, like being at a home match, worth the trip to see the aussies losing (even if it was only once!).

Are they planning on holding the final in brisbane?

the city is ok but a bit boring after a few days! but they are rugby mental up there so the match at Lang Park (suncorp) was an experience.

I went on the fully escorted trip with Experience Sport in association with League Express / Rugby League World and have got to say it was excellent...we even had invites to the Golden Boot Awards dinner.

It wasn't a cheap trip as you can imagine but thats why if you're going to go over you may as well go for a while to mske the most of it.

im hoping to go over for the whole thing...5 weeks. was gonna go on the official tour thing but as i'm going on my own, the 'single person' charge was scandalous- think it was something like £4.5k for whole 5 weeks (tickets, coaches, plane and hotels) which i could just about afford, but single person extra cost was another £2k.

instead hoping to get full set of tickets for all england games and then backpack my way around and do the hostel type thing...should be significantly cheaper.
NOBLE OUT PLEASE- YOU'VE HAD TIME AND NOW MY PATIENCE HAS RUN OUT!

IT'S ONE THING TO LOSE, IT'S ANOTHER TO PLAY DIRE AND BORING RL AND THEN LOSE!
