I have been one of DV's biggest critics on here...

I'm afraid I haven't had a change of heart - one swallow doesn't make a summer and DV has definitely had a lot more bad games than good. Considering that we probably paid him the same money that we would have paid Gasnier (had we been lucky enough to sign him) I think that he has been a monumental disappointment and a couple of decent performances can't change that.

No-one enjoyed him making a fool of slug wellens more than me, I will certainly cheer him (as I do all the players) and wish him "all the best" when he leaves - however his stay at Wigan must go down as one of the most costly mistakes ever made by the club.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

How could he have deferred some of his wages if he is leaving this year? Are we giving him a lump sum pay-off of what is owed to him?

As to the contract I would say no. He's had a few great games for Wigan at the end of this season and the last (where has his new found strength come from?), but he's just not been a threat consistently enough to retain. Lets use his place and wages for a quality strike centre, and if we can't find one this year, get a stop gap signing until one is available on the right terms.

there's no doubting that he has made a massive improvement this year! and imo has had some good games. played great in the last few games but its to little to late in my opinion...after his performances of late im beggining to think we would miss him but he hasnt been anywhere near consistent enough to warrant a new contract. so guess im with the majority on this one

That's a bit strong! I would have deleted (or at least edited) that post though!

Anyway, according to today's WEP, he might be staying...(DV, not Alex, that is!)

To be fair to him, no centre would make much of an impact outside Orr and Moran, possibly the worst half back pairing in the history of SuperLeague.

I'm certainly not his biggest fan nor his biggest critic and I would say give him another year. He's been
ok for the most of his time IMO and well there really is nothing else available.
