Saints' new ground

Post by jinkin jimmy »

Just trawling through a load of sales leads and came across this. There was a note attached to the effect that nothing would develop for "at least 2 years". I take this to mean they could still be in KR until 2011 at the earliest. Is this common knowledge?

when it was first announced it was clealy said that it wouldn't be ready until 2010 ie after the cut off for the franchise (2009)

no doubt the RFL will make a special rule up so that they can still be in superleague

They should not. They could end up sued. If Castleford and Widnes or any compitent team meet the criteria they could sue to of the value they have spent on their stadiums to meet the criteria. What you will end up with is a Scottish parliament situation. It will be ready next year, it will be ready next year. Five years late and £400,000,000 over budget. Not that stains would be that expensive but it could be that late. Should not be allowed. They knew long ago what was required. One year would have been acceptable. Ready 2010 or out. If they can't make it out end of 2008. HC

Well the info I saw said not to expect to see any developments with the project for "at least 2 years". So, that makes it Oct 2009 at the earliest, meaning construction throughout 2010 season with doors open 2011.
