Just back from watching Ireland’s victory over Russia earlier today. Congratulations to Eamon O’Carroll on a great performance (fantastic try – you had to see it to believe it!).

Ireland must have been studying the Wigan coaching manual, giving their opponents a 10 point head start before they started to play their way to a convincing victory. 58 -18 in the end. Well done to all involved. Baz & Tez doing a great job.

Also great to see Brian Carney at the game, supporting the team.

Ian & Brenda, pleasure to meet you. Great to see the Wigan shirts at the game, and even better to celebrate the win over a pint and a chat with a friendly Wigan accent. See you in Cardiff (it's my round) and hopefully at the JJB before then.

If we'd have kept Gleason we'd have had no Fielden, and in any case he was behind Goulding in the pecking order. As for Bob, again you wonder where he would have fitted in. Mike McIllorum was always going to get the nod once he started being injury-free, having been named in the first team over a couple of seasons before he was ever able to make an appearance!

IMO, Long has now gone the "same way" as Bobbie Goulding did at the stains.

All kick and little running. ("Knees/legs probably shot to pieces"). This is IMO, the reason that they are being linked with offloading him and signing another half!

If his teammates wont provide the runners for him, he plays, and looks as bad as any other "poor" scrum half you would care to mention.
