I can't say it any better than Joe Lydon has in the WEP:-

Former Wigan RL ace Joe Lydon has called on Wigan fans to celebrate the life of Mike Gregory, not mourn his passing away.

So very very sad. Wonderful man, why do the decent ones die so young? Met Mike after the Hike for Mike and he spoke to me like a friend, made me feel so special. Rugby league must do something special for him and his family. Love the idea of M of Steel award in his name Rest in Peace

I attend Wigan & Leigh College, and i have recently played in a Rugby Match held at St Patricks. The Cup Match is a newly brouht up competition and we hope it will continue to grow.

This match inparticular was played for Mike. Wigan & Leigh College are the 1st ever team to win such a trophy. "The Mike Gregory Cup".

It is a privilage & an honour to win a cup with such a legends name engraved on it.

I hope for Rugby League's sake that The Mike Gregory Cup continues to grow and eventually becomes a Professional Competition within the Superleague.

R.I.P. Mike.
You will always be with us.

Saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. My thoughts are with his friends and family. Mike was a great player who showed great loyalty to both Warrington and Wigan. I agree, they should consider renaming the Man of Steel award after Mike.

Josie, thanks for the link. I'm not a sentimental kind of guy, but I'm sat here weeping.
such a fitting tribute

Thanks for putting that up for me, I just thought others may like to watch it, as I say I'm a dork for these kind of things. I read all the posts on here and don't know what all the abbreviations are, so sometimes miss the plot on somebody's post.

Again thanks.
