Carmont signed - official

Not a rumour any more....

It's on the club web site in the news section.

That is probably because everyone else is trying to! It is on there though.

There is an article on the Wigan Today which has some of the same quotes from Lenagan in it if you can get on there.

IL implies we saved some money by replacing DV with Carmont.

Damn, you beat me to it. Just saw the story on bbc.co.uk I don't know anything about him, I will, as usual, reserve judgement and see how he does on the pitch when I can watch him in person.

Don't know much about him at all to be honest. This one is definitely wait and see.

He isn't very big for a centre though at 5 foot 10 and just over 14 stone.

It sounds like he is similar to Phil Bailey, good in defence but can also finish well if he is given the opportunities.

As for his attacking abilities we will just have to wait and see, what Wigan really need is a centre who can create space for the wingers.

i don't know where somebody got that about carmont having scored 60 tries in 62 game unless they were being sarcastic he has scored 33 in 83 games going off his player profile on the official NRL website

So we have signed a potentially over the hill player, I say potentially because of his age. This is mere speculation but how many good centres do you know who are not going backwards in their careers at the age of 29 who play centre, I would say every player of this age playing centre has lost speed over the years.

I see another possible white elephant here!
