Warrington v Wigan Updates
Re: Warrington v Wigan Upd...
No report of any injuries, that's more important than the result.
Re: Warrington v Wigan Upd...
So fast, it seems to have caused their website to fail! I get an error message for this link, or just trying the home page. Between that, and the poor response from the club's website, I think there's a need to improve the capacity of some of the rugby websites in the Wigan area...GeoffN posted:

But perhaps only a temporary blip, as I've got in at the 9th attempt. But if that's the interest in pre-season games, what's it going to be like in the season itself...Fraggle posted:So fast, it seems to have caused their website to fail! I'll cut& paste the WEP report:
Wigan lost their first game of 2008, going down 30-22 at Warrington today (Sunday).
Former Salford prop Andy Coley was making his first appearance in Wigan colours since his off-season switch - he was the only one of four new recruits playing against the Wolves.
Centre George Carmont only arrived in England earlier today while Karl Pryce and Richard Mathers are recovering from injury.
Wolves coach Paul Cullen included new signings Matt King and Michael Monaghan.
Before the game a minute's applause was held for former Warrington captain and Wigan coach Mike Gregory, who died last November aged 43.
The Wolves opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Louis Anderson crossed from short range, Briers making no mistake with the conversion.
Wigan just could not get out of their own half and within three minutes they had conceded another try, centre Andy Bracek touching down under the posts and Briers again adding the extras.
In high winds, both sides made errors, but as the opening half went on Wigan improved and twice went close to scoring. First, Pat Richards sliced through the Wolves line and then Micky Higham was held up.
The home side managed to extend their lead before the break, Briers converting his own try, before the Warriors got on the scoresheet through prop Paul Prescott. He crashed over from Trent Barrett's short ball, Pat Richards adding the extras.
The half ended with Kiwi Louis Anderson being sin-binned for a late challenge on Barrett.
Early in the second half, Liam Colbon broke through the Wolves line with an angled run and unleashed Joel Tomkins to the line, Richards' conversion closing the gap to six points.
But Warrington hit back immediately, Chris Riley weaving his way to the line and – from the next play – Simon Grix scored, Briers converting to make it 24-12.
On the hour, Warrington's big-name signing Matt King grabbed a try despite the best efforts of winger Liam Colbon to hold him up, Briers again on target to make it 30-12.
Thomas Leuluai reduced the deficit with a try in the 70th minutes, Richards tagging on the extras to make it 30-18. Centre Darrell Goulding crossed to close the gap to eight points, Sam Tomkins missing with his attempt at goal.
Warrington: Bridge; Johnson, Bracek, King, Riley; Briers, Monaghan; Rauhihi, Mark Gleeson, Pickersgill, Westwood, L Anderson, V Anderson. Subs: Parker, Harrison, Grix, Cooper, Mitchell, Blythe, Neal.
Wigan: Richards; Colbon, Goulding, O'Loughlin, Thornley; Barrett, Leuluai; Coley, Higham, Paleaaesina, Hansen, Bailey, J Tomkins. Subs: McIlorum, Prescott, O'Carroll, S Tomkins, Raey, Ainscough, Kavanagh.

Agreed, but seemingly not this one, despite having over 300 online a while ago.Fraggle posted:
