Noble makes a very good point. A match straight after a weeks intensive training abroad was never going to see Wigan at their best.

Seems strange to have them so close together then.

It does Rob. I do not know enough about the subject but I think it is potentially very risky. Luckily we seem to have emerged with no injuries.

at to laugh at some of the wire fans raving on about how good they were and how well they were going to do this year, big deal they beat a depleted wigan team who in the first half weren't interested.
I agree. Wigan for the 1st 30 mins did not really get going. What we have to bare in mind is that is our 1ST preseason game. Wire played Leigh on Boxing Day and lost 24-18 ish and played Barrow and won 56-6. we are 2 games behind them in our preparation for this season compared to them.

Wire did play better then us and deserved the win. Thought we may have come back in the last 10 mins. As the match went on Wigan got better which is the encouraging part. In the 1st half we could not complete a set of six and when we did the kicks were not brillent. Barrett played well but took a few big hits. The game was very feisty and a fight looked on the cards much of the 2nd half.

I personal was dioppointed with Coleys performance and Tommys distrubtion was off. But we made some nice break up through the centre of the wire deffence. We didn't get much going out wide but tht was due to a lack of backs. The young lads that filled in were good. They all did a reasonable job. Feka looks like is as put on more weight. But he did run 30 meter + to catch up with a warrington player that made a break. Both hookers played and made good yardage from dummy half. Wigan's handling was none apperent thought the game but that should imrove over the nxt few weeks.

I am not too down harted after this defeat and the signs look good for the season an head

I though wigan didn't do bad and we scored two trys when Trent wasn't on the pitch there's a positive Bailey has bulked up for the second row coley did alright but there where a few occasions where he got to the line and slowed down lockers didn't look comfortable in the centres I think if Pryce had been playing king wouldn't have got his try as he out jumped goulding for it but king is pretty tall

Was watching the 1978 Ashes series today Rob

Talk about biased referees :) British for GB. Roger Millward scored a try, well it was awarded for throwing the ball over the line.

Maybe you modern refs aint that bad
